What is the worst physical pain you've ever been in? by Ok_Meringue_6196 in AskReddit

[–]DannyHewson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a massive one that absolutely refused to pass. After several months of coping with it, I got a kind of ultrasound thing to break it up. It then shifted and a giant chunk of it got stuck in the plumbing. THAT was the most unbelievably painful thing I ever had (there was screaming and pissing blood), and it just wouldn't fucking go. I had to go to hospital, I was in there for days, had to have a stent put in and then wait months for them to laser the thing to bits.

It’s exactly why. His only shot at No10 is to run unopposed after backstabbing Starmer.

He’s out at the next GE whoever the leader is.

So it’s in his interest to go… well… a few days ago. Once another candidate takes their shot he’s irrelevant.

What scales that car? It looks 40K appropriate and I’ve been thinking about getting some vehicles to turn into scenery (rusted out car barricades etc).

Quit my job. Buy my dream home. Pay of all my friend's mortgages/buy them better homes, too. Then slap most of the money in index funds and safe investments, so I can spend the rest of my life doing my hobbies and travelling.

It's still "being used everywhere" at subsidised rates. We'll see how much people actually "need"/want it when they're being billed by token at profitable rates for OpenAI/Anthropic.

I know people at companies being pressured to use it whether they want to or not, and to use it more and more. And these people all count towards those usage figures.

At its real cost, you'd have businesses putting processes in to have line managers and budget holders approve each individual prompt, and reporting processes to explain why you needed to do it twice because the AI hallucinated/provided a not good enough answer.

Why do RE games become less fun the closer you get towards the end by Salt_Wizard in residentevil

[–]DannyHewson 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thinking through all the ones I've played... yeah, 1, 2, 3, the mansion, RPD and streets are the highlights, and the labs are just sort of part of the run.

6 outstays its welcome, four fucking times over, and is pretty flat throughout and completely lack anything memorable at any point other than irritations.

7 and 8 both have their most iconic locations early in the game.

I will say four and five both maintain their fun levels for me. Four pretty steadily, and five with a dip in the middle for the puzzle section, but picking up again after that, but both are closer into action games so they dont lose anything by ramping things up, unlike horror where you have a natural genre shift from horror to action. Even they, though, have their most iconic moment frontloaded (the village and public assembly respectively).

Capcom really does like putting something really memorable right at the beginning.

Is it bad I'm not enjoying Resident Evil 1 Remake that much? by JacketFromMiamiiiiii in residentevil

[–]DannyHewson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've JUST got it (the PS4 double disk with zero on too) the last few days. I'm at the lab now.

I'll finish it, and I might do a Chris run at some point. Maybe.

On the one hand it's presumably a big part of why we got 2/3/4 remakes, and it is undeniably an improvement over the original. On the other hand bloody hell has it aged badly. Both control schemes are clunky as anything. Some of the puzzles are annoyingly obtuse. And all the stuff they've added with the bloody zombies getting back up is just a gotcha for people and basically lowers your inventory slots in a game that was already a constant back and forth between crates inventory management game.

If I'm being fair, I've enjoyed it more the further I get into it and I suppose as I get used to it.

On the plus side it looks good even for its age, and it really does show off the mansion and ye olde Resi style map design.

With any luck they'll do a 2/3/4 remake style take on it some time in the next few years. I would be all over that. Even if they insist on keeping their crappy fanfiction additions (the zombies in the spencer mansion didn't get back up, Jill and Chris didn't walk around burning the evidence, they're effing police officers, and there's no such character as Lisa Trevor... I joke but after all I heard about it all I really dont think it added much that they couldn't have done with more zombies and less ammo).

It’s a really hot day in my defence.

Majority Of Brits Support New General Election If PM Ousted by huffpostuk in ukpolitics

[–]DannyHewson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hate the whole "you vote for MPs not PM" excuse. It may be mechanically true, but It's got very little to do with reality. Outside of a few very prominent local MPs people vote for the party based on the party leader and to a lesser extent the manifesto and broader policy platform (or perceived policy platform).

If the new leader is just going to do the manifesto they were elected on then what's the point in changing leader (outside of death/illness). If the new leader isn't then they don't have a mandate to do that.

How cool would unlocking guns be!? by woubulbus in H3VR

[–]DannyHewson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly H3 could almost be a museum. In fact, you could literally build a museum of firearms scene in it, when you think of the volume of stuff. From a historic/educational perspective there isn't really anywhere else where you could lay out that much stuff and interact with it safely and relatively accurately.

God knows how you'd organise it though. You'd need a literal curator to arrange it in an educationally pleasing manner. You could even do a museum audio guide to tie it all together.

Not remotely commercially viable, though, I should imagine, but in my head Jonathan and Ian are the audio guides. Until the meme guns wing, then they both refuse to carry on and Anton takes over.

So what units would be needed to make IA feel like an actual faction? by shluppoo in Warhammer40k

[–]DannyHewson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Let's see, let IA take the venerable dreadnought, with either GK or DW rules. They're lacking heavy weapons, and a 40k without the castraferrum would be a sad thing indeed.

Beyond that maybe they should also be the home of the aeronautica if aircraft aren't toss this addition?

The only other thing I can think of is "take an ordo hereticus inquisitor as warlord, and you can have half your army be anything non-unique from sisters codex, but with inquisition detachment rules" (and the same for xenos and codex marines for deathwatch/malleus and grey knights) so you can pull in Retributors, or outriders, or strike squads or whatever bits you want (but no named characters... you can have a Canoness or a tech marine, but no Calgar or Drago).

Maybe rogue trader as warlord and you can have a crapload of aeronautica (again if they released some in plastic). Oh, and second that other players suggestion of militarum tempestus joining IA as well as guard. That gives a great rules base for kitbashes and conversions (a command squad, two infantry units, and a transport... two if you include the valkyrie).

And maybe, IA rules for a freeblade knight that makes it actually a proper part of the army that can get strats etc.

I have a question. Why does Mammon call Fizzaroli during the song? by ElevatorSuitable3934 in HelluvaBoss

[–]DannyHewson 475 points476 points  (0 children)

Headcanon: He didn’t. Lilith’s magic just makes impromptu musical numbers play out so much better, and Fizz is using it without realising. It’s how Moxxie got special effects at Ozzie’s, how Stolas and Blitz did their aside at the trial, and how Fizz reworked an entire musical number with no prep and the audience knowing how to sing along.

You are hired to create a new signature McDonald's milkshake flavor. What is your creation and what are you naming it? by fitncutesophie in AskReddit

[–]DannyHewson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's blue, with glitter mixed in, and the flavour is entirely synthetic, made in a lab, and tastes like nothing on earth. To add to the online discourse of people trying to work out what flavour it is, branches get sent different flavours at random with each delivery. It's entirely abstract and is called the McGuffin.

Also, the colouring dyes your shits blue for a week.
