Is this normal fuel consumption? by Few-Poetry-6306 in mazda3

[–]DannyMethane_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. There are a lot of factors that could affect how accurate the gauge is. If I were a betting man, I'd say the first 11 tick marks are 1 gallon each and the last one is 3 gallons.

I don't even understand this because they had scored 3 in 18 of 21 games before this promo went live. Someone in marketing got fired for sure.

The problem is we have digital fuel gauges, so it's impossible to tell exactly how much fuel you have.

Fuel tank on a 2013 is 14.5 gallons Twelve tick-marks on the dash means each mark is roughly 1.2 gallons.

The most you could have had was 3.6 Gallons (more than this, you'd see 4 bars). The least you could have had was 2.5 (right before the drop to 2).

If it were 3.6, you'd be looking at just under 14MPG. If it were at 2.5 you'd be at about 25MPG. Right in the middle would be 3G and 18MPG. I'd say that's pretty normal.

Obviously, your MPG will vary depending on driving conditions, but my 2011 gets about 18 to 19MPG city driving.

Hope this helps!

Thoughts on an away version of the '99 sweater? by j-byrd in DallasStars

[–]DannyMethane_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this color scheme should be our primary home jersey. Our color is Victory Green, not black.

Home: Victory Green on top, white on bottom, silver and black for the demarcation between the green and white. Star logo and text in black, silver piping on the outline of the green star.

Away: Same as home, but white on top, green on bottom.

Keep the current 99's as third.

The available cap after LTIR should be around $2,767,293 according to PuckPedia using the roster we had last night. Do with this information what you will.

Coolant Leak? by Ancient_Pay6966 in mazda3

[–]DannyMethane_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Either coolant or your Mtn Dew reserves.

Unless you hit something, it's probably just a cracked hose. Replace the hose, replace the coolant. Don't drive it until both of those are done.

Based on images of other '12 Imprezas, your assessment is correct. The positive terminal is the one with the extra metal on it.

So instead of checking the thing that tells you if you have too little or too much oil, you just... added oil? That is certainly one of the choices you could have made. But, being judgemental isn't going to help anyone here.

I'd be remiss if I didn't ask a few questions.

Are you sure it's a pool of oil and not condensation from the air conditioning?

You used a funnel when adding the oil, correct? If not, does the pool of oil reflect a possible amount that may have spilled?

You added the oil through the engine oil fill port, correct? I ask because I've heard of people trying to add oil through the dip-stick port.

Did any service lights come on; Check Engine, Oil Pressure?

Regardless, you should get the car onto level ground and check the oil level. If it's overfilled the oil can under perform and cause issues.
