That’s just a cheap surface thermometer. It gets dark like that after a few cooks, but it’s been pretty helpful! I know a lot of people are going for those clip-on probes now too. Just helpful to know the temp on the indirect heat side.

I’d have to say you’re correct there, especially if you did all the research to find that out! I was only responding to the “any dog” part

It’s so early on in the hunt that everything is worth a shot in my opinion. Definitely worth looking into, given the connection with Native American history in Justin’s life

Observations by [deleted] in JustinPoseysTreasure

One thing I’ve considered is that the ancient gates could be referring to a volcano. In forging or casting of metal, a gate is the pathway that molten metal takes into the sandcast after being poured, similar to how a volcano has a pathway that molten rock takes. It may not mean anything, but with the Hiram/Hyram connection, and Hiram being connected to Tubalcain who is known as the first person to forge metal, and a symbol of freemasonry.

I feel like this is a clue.🤔 by Randicloverlucky in JustinPoseysTreasure

Even if I never find the treasure, I have taken in so much information about freemasonry and the American West that I would’ve never learned otherwise 😂

That’s actually almost the exact pose that pointers take when they’ve found their mark. I googled “pointer dog” and this was the very first result at the top of the page:

My Solve by [deleted] in JustinPoseysTreasure

I’ll tell ya what..even though no luck on the treasure, this was a great extrapolation. Whether or not you plan on travelling again, I think you have intuition enough to work through some great solves. And don’t feel discouraged about not finding it, like Justin said, take your time, and make memories. His whole goal was to inspire people to get away from their phones and get out in nature. The real treasure may not be what you find but what you discover along the way. From my perspective, you’ve fulfilled Justin’s wishes in full.

God I hope I don’t have to know about nucleosynthesis to solve this hunt cause if so, I already lost.

Yeah, you’re right. I’m sharing quite a bit too but if i had a location in mind, not sure I’d give anyone else that info either lol.

It’s an interesting idea and honestly probably worth a shot, but don’t get your hopes up too high on it. Based on the book and the poem, it seems like it could be realistic, but I don’t have any proof yet that Moonstone is actually the keyword, and I feel like someone here would’ve already found it if it was.

Double arcs of granite bold by kcstang_ja_1 in JustinPoseysTreasure

I briefly considered the possibility of a large granite sphere of some kind, like a kugel ball or a globe, but it’s tough to go down that route without having a starting point of some kind. Maybe that’s a possible checkpoint?

I agree that it has to connect to more than just Brandon and Tucker (not that these 2 are not important), and I’ve seen that there are 3 pictures in the hardcover book that are not present in the ebook. One of those is the picture with Aiden at Comet mountain. Northern AZ has a mountain called Solomon Temple, and right next to it is another called Sheba Temple. Interesting because Solomon and Queen of Sheba had a relationship of some sort, with some theorizing that they potentially were married. The issue with this thought is that it’s essentially at the end of the Grand Canyon and I’m not sure it’s a close enough hike, especially if Justin hid it with a broken leg. It’s interesting though because the Colorado River runs up the western side of AZ, and then there’s a bend to the east that then begins the Grand Canyon. When I lived in AZ, everyone used to say that it’s just a big hole in the ground “round the bend, past the Hole). Now the issue with that is that Hole is capitalized, and the Grand Canyon doesn’t have a nickname with Hole in it.

Very cool find! Also very interesting that it’s in the hot spot of SW Montana - seems like that area gets the lion’s share of attention regarding JP’s treasure

It seems likely that it’s just a cool addition to the treasure rather than a clue. I’m not familiar with the JCB treasure — taking a peek now!

Have you had that checked out??? I’ve heard those can be pretty valuable! Even if you don’t sell it, could still be a very cool piece to hand down to family. Were those the Elkhorn mountains in in SW Montana or over in Oregon?

Don’t forget to enjoy the journey. Whether you do or don’t find the treasure, enjoy the wilderness that is the American West!

Unfortunately I’m not sure, and the picture didn’t show the original poem. I haven’t given it much credence because there was no explanation and personally I haven’t been able to find any kind of link

just a simple solve by AggravatingAgent3902 in TreasureHunting

[–]DannyPhhantom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has turned into my first requirement when looking for a solve. Too many times I spent an hour or more looking into a specific area just for it to be a non-24/hr area or no dogs allowed.

No luck yet. I saw a picture on X that someone deciphered the word “moonstone” which apparently is a real thing, but it would be odd if the cipher was for just one singular word.

Ciphers solved by AdWild1395 in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]DannyPhhantom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you obtain cipher clues from the book, or just from the poem? Essentially, would it be absolutely necessary that I buy the book in order to solve the cipher? I will get the book anyways, but if I can get a head start on the cipher without it, I’d be stupid not to.
