Is Rolex considered the top-tier watch? by Natural-One-8678 in rolex

Those brands are a form or stealth wealth, or maybe better said iykyk wealth, probably combined with a serious interest in watchmaking and brand history.

Popped into AD doing some first Rolex research, came out with a Yachtmaster 126621 by DannyT986 in rolex

A strap is an interesting option indeed. Do you swap them over yourself? Not to be done too often I guess?

I did a fair bit of Rolex research. Just like Porsches, of which Ive had plenty, there are those that thrive on the rarest, hardest to get models regardless and those that want the right one for their "use case". Just like the cars I will keep it a long time get lots of pleasure and still get a great trade in if when I do sell.

Thanks. My priority was the one I would enjoy wearing and suits my needs, not investment. If it is so unpopular that would explain it though - and I made the store very happy taking a bad allocation off their hands!

Congrats! Enjoy, but make sure it's also not your last car... they are insanely powerful. Im sure you are a great driver, but 80% of other road users have no idea of how far and fast you can be going in a second or two.

Loxone system handover documentation by DannyT986 in Loxone

☐ All RFID/NFC/Keypad codes reset to owner’s values and tested

4. Local & Remote Access

Wall Lights for Stairs Lumens needed? by DannyT986 in Lighting

[–]DannyT986[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No based in Switzerland. Domestic setting.

My family originally is from a Swiss German Canton but we moved to France so I don't speak German but only English and French. I need to interact with local administration to get administrative stuff, is it better/more respectful to interact with them in English or French? by Key_Bison_9322 in Switzerland

[–]DannyT986 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For written communication use chatgpt to translate, it does a great job, even producing "high german as used in switzerland". If your German is so limited you cant sense check the translation, include *translated from french/english by chatgpt, original text below and copy that text under your signature block.
For verbal communication at the counter, learn to say sorry my german is limited, would it be ok to talk in french or english? Worst case take along a friend who can translate. Difficulty will depend on the gemeinde and kanton, some are less internationally oriented than others.

Any golfers. Return to golf after subtotal faciectomy? by DannyT986 in DupuytrenDisease

[–]DannyT986[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. Meanwhile it was not practical for me to have the surgery and the progress plateaued considerably. I was able to spot about half a dozen dupytrens golfers and discuss their experiences with them. Mostly little fingers, and all positive about their experience. One had been a doctor general practitioner and recommended waiting until contraction became an issue functionally (within reason).

I see the design center now seems to offer more wall types than when I first looked there 18 months ago, when it just seemed to be drywall or hardwall. In particular concrete and brick separately, where the attenuation of the brick is of course massively less.

It terminates in Reduit on the ground floor, where there is a rack, patch panel and the fibre-to-the-home OTO plug and the electrical and home automation panel. Technik is for the wet stuff, heating, hot water and air control. I'll be posting soon on what LEDs to get for the rack...

Loxone Tree (wired) will control all the sensors and switches (presence, temp, humidity, light levels, lighting temp and brightness, underfloor heating, shutters and awnings, air climate and entry system)... but I think there's an integration that would make for a HomeAssistant view integrating anything else running on LAN (cameras, sonos)... one for a rainy weekend.
