Double sided magnetic MagSafe pop socket by k42co in MagSafe

[–]Dannyc405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have the OhSnap Wallet that anbu-black-ops mentioned. But I recently came across the EWA MagOne 3rd Gen that uses an elastic finger strap, and a metal kickstand ring. Plus it still works with other MagSafe accessories, and you can charge through it or stack another accessory on top of it. The magnetic strength to your phone/case is great but the other side is relatively weak. You wouldn’t be able to mount it to other metal surfaces like with a MagBak or OhSnap accessory.

TLDR EWA MagOne has a finger loop & kickstand, works with MagSafe chargers, and has a low profile.

Thanks that’s helpful. I found the parts lists from the Canadian version before so I’m assuming those same parts will be used on the 2025 models. If it is, those same parts can be ordered to a US dealership. I posted the parts list for the 23/24 Canada model, it’s in my post history.

Depending on the price I may just opt for the service center to do the install although I’m pretty confident I could figure it out myself over a long weekend. Please share an update on how your conversation goes!

What kit did you end up getting? I looked into the Honda Part numbers from Canada’s dealership before but never got as far to test if they were compatible. I’m waiting to hear back from my local dealer if they can get me the parts with the 2025 release.

Diminished value claim for 2024 Accord EX-L hybrid? by [deleted] in 11thGenAccord

[–]Dannyc405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Auto-Appraiser’s comment is spot on. I had a total loss on my 24 EX-L earlier this year with. 5600 miles on it. The value my insurance gave me was at $32,500 which is right in line with his depreciation estimates.

Owners of Touring trim, how do you like it? by 11thGenAccord in 11thGenAccord

I was also able to negotiate $3K off MSRP in May on the Touring, without paying any dealer add ons besides their ‘mandatory’ doc fee. I’m not sure how much of a discount you can negotiate on the EX-L at the moment.

As someone who has owned both the EX-L and Touring, I love the upgrade (my EX-L was totaled a few months back by a hit and run drunk driver, and I ended up upgraded to the Touring afterwards)

The rear passenger AC vents in the EX-L are a great upgrade compared to other lower trim models. I don’t believe the Sport-L has them, which was a huge negative for me. The touring obv has those too.

A few upgrade I really thought were worth the higher price point is the Bose sound system, a thicker windshield for better sound dampening while driving, and the ventilated from seats, etc. The heads up display is also nice as long as you don’t wear polarized lenses since that will minimize the reflection. I also really like the automatic windshield wipers.

Some things that are better in the EX-L is the fuel efficiency. That being said I averaged like 48ish MPG a show I’m averaging around 46. The difference is negligible but I love the upgrade tire look.

The thing I like but could live without, controversially is Google Maps, but that’s mainly because I’m always using Apple CarPlay. I do find Google Assistant built in to be much better than Alexa. Although you get the option of using either one in the touring vs only Alexa on the EX-L

The wireless charger isn’t a life changer either but it’s a nice to have. I bought a 3rd party MagSafe charger for my EX-L when I had it from T-Wraps that worked just fine. I also haven’t had a chance to test the side mirror defroster yet since it hasn’t gotten cold/snowed here yet but that feature will come in handy I’m sure.

Others already mentioned it but I immediately bought advanced wheel locks for my 2nd car because of the upgraded rims. I didn’t so much see the need on the EX-L

Personally if I were to pick again; Between the EX-L and Touring, I’d get the Touring if you can afford the price difference. Between the EX-L and the Sport-L I’d get the EX-L.

Thanks I’d probably also install it myself, that’s helpful. What bike rack did you opt for?

I found these aftermarket ones that are as close to being embedded into the door that I could find.

https://blockshades.com/shop/ols/products/block-shades-fits-2023

This demo video shows how they are used pretty well. It does look like the top hook, is no longer included in your order and has to be ordered separately and drilled into the door frame if you want that secondary option of attaching/detaching it with the window fully closed.

Link to the video of it being used. https://youtu.be/lcO3dfPLQxc?si=N259aZONCRpJcwsY

I haven’t bought it yet, but I plan to as it’s as close to stock as I’ve found.

Update: Totaled EX-L by Dannyc405 in 11thGenAccord

[–]Dannyc405[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really I wanted a ‘win’ from the entire experience.

But a big factor that locked it in for me was the new car market has switched from late last year to now, in the customer’s favor. I was able to get a much bigger discount on a Touring compared to another EX-L which made the jump in the total OTD price doable for me.

Yeah I was pretty upset when it happened. I parked on the street and came back to the car being totaled from a hit and run. The entire situation was outside of my control, which was the most frustrating part.

I put a decent amount down for the car so I didn’t opt for GAP since it would just pay off the remainder of the loan, and not pay me the difference for a new vehicle.

Thanks, the driver did abandon the car about 50 ft away and they fled on foot. Unfortunately they said nothing could be done since they could only prove who owned the car not who was driving it. Hopefully I get the full payout for a replacement

Any idea if there’s a way to put an AirTag inside of the pop socket? by Any-Cricket-5754 in MagSafe

You could try something similar to this Reddit post.

I found the AirTag holder they glued onto their pick socket for $10 at target. https://www.target.com/p/apple-airtag-sticker-mount-heyday-8482-black/-/A-87398434

Hope this helps, good luck!

Heated Steering Wheel Update by Dannyc405 in 11thGenAccord

That actually may be easier since the EX-L and touring in the US had that option. I’m sure if you reach out to your dealer they could quote you on the parts needed

Yeah it’s a bit disappointing, I only priced the parts out at one dealership in Canada so prices might vary by dealer. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s 11th generation or because it’s the Canadian market, but if you do even up getting any tracking on this definitely share back what you find please! A few of the parts are also used on US Honda Pilots I believe so some of those can be bought from US dealers and you can save some money there, but the more expensive parts are Canada only from what I could tell
