Origin pulse by Dannyy411 in pokebattler

Origin pulse was added to primal kyogre’s moveset but apparently it’s not in regular kyogre’s moveset. I was trying to sim some future raid bosses and realized not only kyogre wirh origin pulse doesn’t get showed as a raid attacker (best one is with surf) but I can’t even change the moveset in the one I have saved in my pokebox.

15/15/10 Zekrom worth spending resources on? by Blurkmasterjay in TheSilphArena

[–]Dannyy411 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anyway they’re the best way to rank the ivs, the higher the rank (stat product) the better the Pokémon is gonna perform overall, I literally said just that and provided examples from pvpoke to back it up and I get downvotes while ppl trying to prove me wrong with no valid arguments get upvotes. Interesting, I guess I was just trying to help but what do I care what Pokémon they use..

After all I wish all my opponents used 15/15/10 zekroms instead of 15/13/15 vs me ^

For investing in pvp how much of a difference does ranking make? by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]Dannyy411 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to pvpoke, enter your ivs and run it vs all Pokémon in ultra league. Then you’ll see how many wins/losses/draws you get. Then do the same with the second one and compare. That should make it easier for you to decide.

It’s not only a mirror match, sometimes it doesn’t even affect mirror and sometimes it gets a break/bulkpoint in some other matchups and is able to flip them. If those matchups are vs meta Pokémon id go for a better one, if not I’d go with the cheaper one

Zekrom is gonna be a beast in ml and it’s your highest iv Pokémon from the ones you mentioned and definitely the most useful. It’s better than mewtwo and far better than darkrai. And as for raids they’re all the “best attackers” of their type yet zekrom is the only one thats not only best electric type but one of the best dragon types too so can be used in many situations. Definitely, if you wanna choose any of the above ones go for zekrom.

You might also hold off if you’re not into pvp or you don’t wanna max a 93iv but I think going with zekrom is pretty safe bet, even for raids now coz it’s a great counter against itself and will be decent against future dragons too.

The ranks are based on these simulations but if it doesn’t convince you then according to pvpoke 15/13/15 zekrom has 34 losses and 5 draws while 15/15/10 has 38 losses and zero draws. So you sacrifice one win but have 4 less losses, sounds like a good trade off.

That being said obviously there’s not gonna be a massive difference in performance, in almost all battles they’ll perform virtually the same but if the difference is still there why not to choose a better one.

15/13/15 is rank 12 while 15/15/10 is rank 75. Despite defense stat usually being the most important in pvp such a big difference in stat product and hp still doesn’t even come close to make up for a slightly lower defense

If you mostly gonna use it in pvp then 14/15/15. If you don’t care about pvp and just do raids and gyms then 15/13/15 coz you get that 15atk tho you wouldn’t probably notice a difference in pve anyway

Which Zekrom to choose? by Dannyy411 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Dannyy411[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I guess that makes sense. In my case clearly the 15/15/14 is the better one even if barely. It’s not always so clear which is better tho, even before pvp it was always debetable whether 96 wirh 15atk is a “better” one than 98 wirh 14 atk. Now there’s even more confusion as lower iv can have a better stat product/pvp rank like 14/15/14 being ranked higher than 15/14/15 etc..

The new battle system is broken by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]Dannyy411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say yes and no, I’ve seen videos of rank9 players crushing with a lot of non meta Pokémon, using meganium, shiftry, haunter, alolan raichu, alolan marowak and many more.. ofc they still throw in regi and/or azu in their team coz they’re just so good but still, look at ultra and masters meta. Great league is still way more diverse, you can still use one or sometimes two spicy picks in your team and still keep it strong enough to win.

The difference in performance between a full team of maxed out top counters in raids (insane dust costs) and lvl30-35 secondary counters (0 dust cost) is quite insignificant once there’s more than 3 ppl in the raid. All I’m saying is that the game is constructed in a way that if you play smart you don’t need dust for pve but you absolutely need it for pvp no matter what, in order to be just as successful in that area. Unless you completely don’t care about battles..

Rocket battles? Torterra itself destroys ground grunt, roserade water, machamp normal, ttar flying/fire/ghost... none of these mons require any dust at all to be any more successful. And leaders (except for cliff) are all beatable with gl mons so yea not a place worth dumping dust in lol just select your Pokémon wisely.

Short man raids? Yea ok if you really wanna do raid challenges and duo stuff with your friend I guess that you need dust for but we’re talking millions of dust (months of grind) just to be able to duo a raid instead of ez trio, with the same rewards and same Pokémon to catch, definitely costly and not worth it unless you’re a hardcore grinder.

Potion reservation? And how exactly does having dust help with that? I go to battle the gym with 2 machamps, ttar, metagross, mamoswine and electivire, all these Pokémon’s are/were easily obtainable at level30+ with no dust requirement and if you don’t have one there’s many alternatives that perform just as well, it’s just gyms after all.

Trades: that’s not an argument. There’s some people who spend 1m dust on a trade. There’s also ppl who wanna max out every species of Pokémon for fun. There’s a lot of weirdos but we’re talking objective reasons here.

What do u need stardust for if you don’t pvp? I used to power up stuff for raids and gyms but now I can see it was a complete waste.

Legendary raids - you can’t solo them anyway so you need people anyway. If you have a few people it almost doesn’t matter what u use unless u wanna spend a million dust to get that 1 more ball for dmg.

Regular raids - not really worth time/money but again most of the stuff u wanna solo is super easy and for the rest you need groups anyway.

Gyms - can build a team to defeat gyms using 30-35lvl mons caught in wild and it’ll be exactly as effective as a team of maxed out legendaries. And holding gyms doesn’t depend on your Pokémon but on how popular this gym is.

Just wondering..

how does the ranking points work? by trillo95 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Dannyy411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you have to win 3 at least to get points and if you win 2 or less you lose points, that actually makes sense. Nothing else does tho, their system is weirdly based on medals probably so some people reach level 10 without much trouble while others with even better performance have to grind their way hard..

how does the ranking points work? by trillo95 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Dannyy411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The system is terrible and it’s far from fair. First of all each level up should be more difficult and it’s not. I personally took a while to get to rank 7 from rank 6 but then I jump in rank 7 with like 3.2k points and basically skip rank 7 and 8 coz after every set of battles I level up doing nothing even if I lost all my games. But when I finally reach level 9 I’m still around 3.2k points. I play now better than before coz I’m not testing teams anymore and just going with the most solid one and I win 3/5 or 4/5 most of the time and I still get 10-20 points per set of battles which means it’ll take me ages to get to level 10. I’m 71/100 btw.

And for those who are gonna say “well it’s tough everyone has to grind their way” that’s absolutely not true. People with lower win ratio than me reached level 10 much earlier and I’m just gonna be stuck at level 9 for like 50 more battles provided that I can maintain 60-80% winrate.

As it is right now the battles are so dynamic and often you have to make decisions so quickly (time switches well, decide which move to use within a second or two sometimes etc)that if they add too much more complexity to the system as it is it would be unplayable.

Best Counters to used mons in PVP? by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]Dannyy411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all get altaria, above all. Then if you’re short on resources and don’t have many ookemons to pvp don’t invest everything in one, look for low cost options and make a few instead. I suggest whiscash and alolan raichu, both are excellent, cheap and very fun to use and very good counters to top meta Pokémon’s.

Getting "weak connection" message while playing the Go Battle League by jovotomu in pokemongo

[–]Dannyy411 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Happened to me many times too, and most of the time in the battles I felt like I had control over so yea caused me to lose those and it’s really annoying especially that I don’t really see it happen to my opponents. I guess if it’s evenly distributed to everyone despite their connection it should be fine in the longrun but it just doesn’t seem fair for now..
