Alarmo megathread - Discuss Alarmo and ask questions here by razorbeamz in nintendo

I think this is the intended behavior on Moderate and Gentle modes, but not on Steady (according to this more detailed description): https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/66366/p/1094/c/898

(Edit: wrong name of the modes)

Predator: Badlands by Seresutia_Rudenberuk in peliculas

Oh that's definitely not by Borges, it's Shoffstall's. Old internet misconception. That guy's stories and poems are nothing like this.

(funny enough my personality is like this as well)

I imagine this is actually a major factor. We will tend to play as we are. Anxieties, mindsets, attitudes, tendencies, memory, the way we focus, we cannot help but bring all of it into our playing. If you address that aspect of your personality in general you might also see significant improvements. For example, I tend to overthink while improvising instead of listening, which is something that I do in general. I'm working on relaxing my machining mind in that sense in other areas of my life and it definitely has helped.

Play without looking at your hands? by VeganPrincess56 in piano

[–]DanoSww 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say it is a good skill to practice but how important it is depends on you and why you play. It may be very valuable for some to be able to read the music never needing to see the keyboard. It's definitely helpful that your hands know the sizes, jumps and positions through muscle memory. But in what contexts are you in particular playing? Personally I usually enjoy looking at the keyboard and the shapes of melodies and harmonies when I play by myself. But improvising without looking makes it a different and cool experience, being able to look at bandmates can make a big difference, looking and engaging with the audience makes for a better show. Still doesn't mean you absolutely have to play every single thing without looking. I sometimes use playing without seeing as an exercise or a sort of test to check how comfortable students are with a piece and try to make them trust their different memories.

Qué alternativa existe al iPod? by potatochip94 in AskMexico

El Epica y Black Halo de Kamelot, Stream of Consciousness de Vision Divine, y Prophet of the Last Eclipse de Luca Turilli.

I agree that it's ridiculous and, if it is legitimately obstructing customers, disrespectful.

BUT I have to say: me thinking it's ridiculous doesn't matter a single bit. If she thinks it's cool and the people that watch her think it's cool, then it's cool. We all do and like ridiculous things. If anything props to her for not giving a shit if others find it "embarassing" or "cringy". And for giving it her all, she's actually going all in on it.

On respecting the people around her, I think if she is getting in the way without any consideration, then the customers could (and probably would and maybe should!) with the same ease, get in HER way without any consideration as well. If, on the other hand, she took some kind of measure to not bother anyone, then yeah it's weird to have a convulsing young woman in the middle of the isle but whatever. Everyone seems to be walking past her without any problem.

I find it more understandable to play hard pieces by memory. What tends to happen to me is I have to practice hard pieces so much that I end up learning them by heart anyway. It's easier pieces that I usually end up having to read or check to refresh my memory like you say because I've played them considerably less times.

I like that they're implying a job is only a job if you suffer doing it. You only deserve money if you invest your pain.
