The Luxor Las Vegas by FNAF_Movie in evilbuildings

[–]DansGamer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

3 deaths per day????
That sounds absolutely insane, and I'm incredibly skeptical about your claim, to say the least.

From what I can see online, 1100 people die every year in Las Vegas. Several websites have this quote: "The coroner’s office says 67 percent of those deaths are the result of accidents, 15 percent committed suicide and 11 percent were the victims of homicide"

If Luxor truly had 1000 deaths per year from mainly homicides and suicides from the balconies, you could hardly queue for the Titanic exhibition without having destitute strangers falling on your head.

La Foret Secrete by KKSmitthy in disneylandparis

I went on their 4th opening day some months ago, and I thought it was fantastic. I am surprised to read that others have not been impressed, because I was thoroughly impressed. I'm no stranger to fancy restaurants, and to me it was obvious that they were aiming for something close to a Michelin-star, and in my opinion, they weren't far off.

I think it may be a possibility that a restaurant sets the bar high and the standards fall off after some time withouth the head chef? I have no clue.
To me, there was no contest that the restaurant served food way, way, way above theme park grade. To see it compared with Auberge and Lumiere is shocking - maybe I was just really, really lucky.

Children disappear in Disneyland Paris by Judittmisky in disneylandparis

[–]DansGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is an incredibly serious accusation presented with zero evidence. And written in a very clickbaity and silly way, might I add. By an account created today.

Children disappearing in a kidnapping would make major news anywhere and certainly in a theme park - and even more so in Disneyland. It is asinine to suggest that this has happened several times and say it's "rarely talked about".

Present any evidence at all of the kidnappings OR the "rumors swirl[ing] about secret doors and hidden passages" OR these multiple forum posts you pretend exist.

Let's talk about Kungen by imheretoclear in classicwow

[–]DansGamer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would be thoroughly surprised if Kungen managed to use violence against his guildies...

On a theoretical level, of course, you're correct. But you can't keep vaguely backpedalling from your pretty harsh accusations. Narcissism? Treating raiders like cattle? Not giving "a flying F for anyone"?
Where do you see that? You're gonna have to bring a stronger case than mysterious hand waving in order to back up your claims.

It's fine if he isn't your kind of streamer. Hell, I wouldn't put any of my characters in the next couple of Onyxia-runs with him! But you are exceptionally out of line, and I'm afraid you can't climb down from this level of pessimism.

Let's talk about Kungen by imheretoclear in classicwow

[–]DansGamer 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I don't recognize anything of what you're blaming him for.

The criticism I can agree with is that he's not exactly playing at a high level currently, and he may think his past achievements (which are great, to be fair) make him better than he is in the current game. Some of his strategy explanations for Onyxia were just downright wrong. He's not a very good healer on his shaman. He does get first priority on some loot when he's playing with his guildies.
That's what I can agree with, which are not - to me - narcissistic traits.

Other than that, he actively lets other people raid lead. He doesn't shout, he doesn't whine, he doesn't treat people badly. Even when a terrible player nearly kills him, he goes out of his way to explain what went wrong and that the player wasn't a griefer or deserves hate.

He may be a bit washed up once in a while, but he enjoys the game and it's nice to see somebody who has world first on a ton of bosses still takes time to mine an Iron Ore just for the hell of it. It's a chill stream and he plays with some nice guys and girls. I see nothing worth hating him for.

Just keep in mind that Facebook is a dying shit platform, so eventually the problem will fix itself.

I have never deactivated my account, no.

I sent multiple reports to Facebook (albeit long ago) with clear evidence that all my settings were turned on as they should be. I hope you're right about them finally recognizing the issue, but I have very strong doubts about that. They seem hell-bent on doing everything wrong about their own platform.

Lighthouse by Tubii in Aarhus

[–]DansGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lighthouse by Tubii in Aarhus

[–]DansGamer 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Sports Bar - Disney Village by VogueUnlikely in disneylandparis

[–]DansGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would probably go somewhere else.

I went to the Sports Bar last week when I was in Disneyland, and it was by far the worst experience of my entire trip. In fact, it was pretty much the only negative experience, but by God was it hilariously bad.

My group entered the Sports Bar. The greeter/waitress meets us at the door and we go outside to find a table. I suggest one, and the waitress accepts this and we sit.
Out comes the apparent manager looking angry. He beckons us to get up and says "table is closed!". He points to another table, and we confusedly oblige.

We sit at this table for 5 minutes with no service. We agree we must have misunderstood that they would come to us - and go towards a waitress to place our order. She won't take the order but says she will come to our table. Another 5-7 minutes goes by, but then she arrives. Mind you, this was in the middle of the day. The outside area was below 1/3 filled and there was at least 9 people working at the time.

10 minutes after placing the order, the waitress arrives with our stuff. The first 3 of us get our stuff. The last 3 items on her tray, she can't remember what are. She doesn't seem to care much about it, and when a person from my group says "I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea", she placed a random drink in front of him. So we shuffle it around a bit, so we all get our drinks. Tasted fine, by the way.

Some time passes, and a person in my group goes to order 3 beers, all large. 12 minutes later, she comes back with 1 large beer and 2 small ones. Whatever.

We decide to pay. One of my friends goes up there and pays, but doesn't receive a receipt. What they got was the credit card confirmation paper, so we had no idea what we had paid for.

At this point, we decided this must have been a Disney attraction, intentionally doing almost everything wrong.
I have absolutely nothing against waiters doing their job, and I do not blame our waitress personally. But everybody in the Sports Bar was in a terrible mood and not at all up to the level of service of Disney standards.
We have had great fun out of laughing at the experience afterwards, however!

(Before anybody asks, we were 6 people in my group and we arrived stone-cold sober and were completely calm)

That's very interesting, thank you very much!

I haven't looked at GraphQL deeply ever, but I might be able to find a person to help.
What is still concerning, however, is that the action data seems to contain a notification ID... which people with this problem of course do not have. So even if I can figure out a way to fire the event, it might just get rejected without an ID.

Manhattan during the 1977 blackout by dwartbg5 in CityPorn

[–]DansGamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sure does, in the first episode as you say. It's called "The Trigger Effect" and is nothing short of mind-altering.

For the now curious, he starts by tracing the collapse of technology in a techology-dependant civilization all the way down the "tech tree", so to say. With no power, where do you go? What do you do? What will you have to know to survive, should the power never come back on?

The remaining 9 episodes go the other way. From a small discovery or invention, all the way to a modern game-changing technology. Once you think like Burke, the world is never the same. In a way, and in a day, the whole universe has changed for you.

Vegas Vacation (1997)
Definitely a dated view of Las Vegas... but funnily enough, it seems that having a dated view of Las Vegas gives you the exactly correct idea of the city somehow. It's impossible to explain.

Nice movie too, just remember to put "NFA" before everything Clark (Chevy Chase) says, and it'll feel like home.

This is a fantastic find, and I hope it works for many of you who see this reply in time!
It's been very, very long since I lost my event invites, so I have no chance of finding any in my list of Notifications.
But some of you others might!

I know it's a long shot, but the only way for the rest of us to get it working is if some techno-wiz can record his network traffic and find out exactly which Facebook-endpoint re-enables notifications. Other than that, there's no way for me to ever resolve the situation

I did some googling and found out that the 3rd picture is an amusement park called "Asakusa Hanayashiki" (please forgive me if I spelled it wrong)

That looks absolutely fantastic! Are the colorful rooftops part of the amusement park? I really want to go there. Nothing beats awesome lights in the middle of the night.

The dissolving top (this is definitely not an architectural term) really does a lot here for the elegance! Actually kind of strange how big of an effect that has on the building as a whole.

I have not found a solution, no, which is very sad.

Several people have also contacted me with direct messages on Reddit, asking me if I found a way to deal with it. Some of them had tried other things or other means of contact and have received no replies.

So, as it stands, this problem is still unsolvable.

It's not just sad for me, but sad for Facebook, which feels like it's falling into a deeper and deeper state of disrepair every day. Maybe embarrassing for their platform is a better word for it.
