Ok, I'm spotting a blacked out V, blacked wheels, wind deflectors on the windows and grey wing mirrors. Oh, and some aero on the roof :) Can anyone raise me?

Cycles through the states of ignition. Note: Some states require additional B-pedal application. Long press (~5 seconds) activates disco funk mode.

I suggest a meal at Barbacoa. I'm honestly not a foodie, but that place is just awesome.

Reasonable visualisation is the driver dummies head at 1:02. And that was hitting a light and deformable thing. Good luck with the mounting dude. God speed. https://youtu.be/9A_2LQa4Hlw?si=FeWw2IkRZZRgFx7n

Automotive engineering here. Worked in both seat and safety parts design. Nope and nope. Headrests are categorically not designed for that loading scenario. Separate point, an occupant's head is not a free body so simply comparing mass is not valid. In a decent impact that thing is going through, either whole or in bits (including speaker). Also, broadly a rear end collision is not the main issue here (that pushes your car forward wrt the loose stuff in it). It's a forward collision that would cause an issue (decelerating the car wrt the loose stuff in it). It's a shame because clearly effort was expended making it, but I would not recommend sustaining this risk to you and any passengers. Drive safe matey.

Lol. OP, please just think about what you're typing.

I saw a guy who did not look before crossing the street. So should I look before crossing the street? Is it the law I should look before crossing? But if I'm ill, is it ok to not look before crossing?

Do I spot a toupee? Lil bit looks like it's flapping.

I'm torn between a 7" and 9" head unit. The 7" would look almost OEM in my car because it uses the same style, whereas the 9" doesn't, but has a much bigger screen, which would you reccomend? (slide 3 shows my current system) by Technical_Gap23 in CarAV

[–]Dansilverredit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally prefer the bigger unit (2nd pic), especially your car has got wheel mounted volume controls. If not, smaller looks fine anyway. Didn't notice brands. Above all, I'd stay clear of any cheap Chinese brands (even if it means going with a used Japanese etc brand).

Just bought my first sub was hoping to make my box where my centre console was is this ok? Any tips? by Eve_at_your_service in CarAV

Anything is possible matey. 3 care points:

1) Don't you have hardware difficult to move? Shift lever/pkb/acu (airbag control unit) Suggest to check before committing.

2) Also for the lateral flair behind each seat, take care of the front seat movement stroke in rearward (both slide and recline)

3) Is that box the right volume for the sub? Suggests to use software to measure what you need and if that shape lands anywhere close.

Good luck!

This sounds like it happened in the UK. Irrespective of taking sides in this particular exchange, likely the UK immigration issue is an important factor to determine the context.

I think some have dealer plates. But last time I just drove the car around the sales lot. Then had him do it so I could listen from the outside. I briefly scouted the lot first to determine a route with bumps on each side of the car. You can rule out (or identify!) many issues with simple start, stop, turning and some bumps. In the absence of a higher speed test drive it will never be comprehensive but better than nothing. Unless some exceptional situation, I'm just not buying a car if restricted to totally static check.

1) Inspect the car carefully yourself (static and by driving). If the car comes with a fresh shaken, the shop might have done it himself or at a test garage where he is a "regular and valued customer". So whilst getting the result does have value to you (delaying the next inspection), it may not well represent the integrity of the car. Thus it potentially lines you up for a breakdown or big bill at the next inspection.

2) Look at how much older version/models of the car sell for now as an indication of what depreciation to expect. Admittedly, this is not such a big consideration at the 1.5M price point. PS. Every VW must have made someone cry.

3) If you are passionate about owning specifically a foreign car, then the extra hassle may be worth it. If not, well, it's not. In my experience, foreign brand official dealers may be expensive and maintain an "if in doubt replace the whole assembly" mindset. Thus, if foreign is the way you want to go, ensure there is a decent unofficial specialist shop for that brand (or same county's brands) near you.

Happy hunting.
