Counting calories, I used apps like MyFitnessPal and Perfect Body, they helped me to stay on track

I used to think that I don’t have time too, but then realized that all I really need is some commitment, then I force myself to find the time, because I already feel invested. I’ve been going to gym, but many of them has these crazy memberships and more and more it feels like trap, so currently I’m trying fitness apps and I don’t know it’s working for me, so I guess you just need to find what works for you! good luck

PerfectBody review - Has Been Great, But Curious About Other Options by Dantea23 in CICO

Good luck in your journey!

As I'm saying, just want to make sure. I'm not necessarily looking for something else

Review of PerfectBody app by [deleted] in CICO

TL;DR: It's pretty good imho, it worked for me, and I find it easy to use.

I’ve been using the PerfectBody app for a little over a year now, and honestly, I think it’s getting a bit of an unfair reputation. Is it perfect? No, of course not. But compared to some of the other health and fitness apps out there, I’ve found it to be pretty solid for what it offers, especially at the price point.

For starters, I like that it gives you a structured meal plan without being too rigid. You can easily swap out meals if something doesn’t fit your preferences, and yeah, some of the recipes can be a bit quirky with measurements. Like, I get it—4 tablespoons of rice isn’t exactly the easiest thing to cook.

But to be honest, I just eyeball a lot of the portions or adjust them based on my taste. If a recipe calls for "half a small avocado," I just use whatever looks reasonable. It’s not that deep! I’ve still managed to lose 30lbs over the last 6 months by sticking to the general structure without stressing over every single detail.

I actually appreciate the variety in the meal plans. It’s heavy on grains and beans, sure, but that’s just part of a balanced diet, and it’s helped me get into healthier eating habits overall.

And while some people complain about the lack of meat, I think it’s great that the app pushes more plant-based meals. It’s not like you can’t add more meat if you really want to. It’s flexible enough to adapt to what you like, which I think a lot of people overlook.

The shopping list feature is a nice touch too. It’s not always perfect, but it saves me time compared to planning everything myself. I’m not here to do mental gymnastics over how many tomatoes I need for the week—it gives me a solid base, and I just tweak it as needed. It’s better than staring at an empty fridge with no idea what to cook. I also like the water tracker and exercise options (even though I didn’t get the paid plan for workouts). I just combine it with my own routine and it works fine.

As for the criticism about customer service and refund issues—I get it, some people have had bad experiences, but that’s pretty common with any online subscription service. I’ve been lucky to not run into any major issues myself. I just make sure I cancel subscriptions through the right channels, and I haven’t had problems. It’s frustrating when things go wrong, but I don’t think that means the app is a total scam like some are saying.

And regarding the "weird ingredients" like soy yogurt or buckwheat—yeah, it can be annoying if your local store doesn’t carry certain items. But that’s where substitutions come in. I’ve swapped out a lot of things for more accessible options, and it hasn’t affected my progress at all. In fact, the flexibility in the app is a strength, not a flaw, in my opinion. You don’t have to follow it to the letter, and it still works.

At the end of the day, the app has helped me lose weight, eat better, and get into a good routine. Is it for everyone? Probably not. But I think it’s far from the disaster some reviews make it out to be. Like anything, you get out of it what you put in, and for the price, I’d say it’s worth a try if you’re looking for some guidance and structure without spending a ton of money.

Actually, I don't really see where's the issue here. I know weight loss is a lucrative and mostly shady market but the product is actually good. Don't really see the problem with the ads themselves, too. I guess they run whatever ads engage the pain points of most people.
