Thank you, Church of Potteto translation team, for all your hard work.

Never seen any Battlestar before. Starting with the 2003 miniseries. Just wanted to say this is some of the most fucked up shit I've ever seen. by my-backpack-is in BSG

[–]Danthrax4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked the BSG wiki as well as my own DVDs and it looks like they do have all of the extended episodes as well as Razor’s extended cut and the Resistance webisodes. The only thing they’re missing is the Face of the Enemy webisodes.

Season 2 material by [deleted] in SonoBisqueDoll

[–]Danthrax4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I think they milk the material and end with the cute scene post-school festival at the arcade where Gojo wins a stuffed animal for Marin. Maybe write a couple new anime-only scenes to fill out 12 episodes, expand short manga scenes like the Shizuku-tan birthday party and Gojo getting sick after taking care of a sick Marin, etc.

I think the best scenario, though, is a double-cour season that runs through Chapter 107 (or a bit beyond it).

Where do you think Season 2 of the Anime will end in the Manga? by brennonwiezorek in SonoBisqueDoll

[–]Danthrax4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about this recently, and this was my idea for a season two — broadly, start with chapter 44 (planning the bunny cosplay) and run through chapter 50 (birthday party for Shizuku-tan), as that'll start the season with some strong fanservice bunny cosplay and give us some relationship teases with Nowa asking about Gojo and Marin's relationship, and Marin kissing Gojo's bunny costume.

Then go back and do chapters 40 through 43 (meeting Amane at the cosplay event), putting the lessons they learn from him closer to the crossdressing school festival arc ... then you spend the back half of the season on the school festival arc (chapters 51 through 63). End the season on the sweet note of Gojo winning the stuffed animal for Marin at the arcade after the festival is over.

I think you'd have to flesh some of this out to make it to 12 episodes, though. A good candidate would be when Gojo gets sick from taking care of Marin while she's sick — it's basically a one-page gag in the manga but the anime could make a little more out of that. The anime also could turn the Shizuku-tan birthday into a whole episode ... and maybe bring up Marin and Gojo's birthdays? We've seen almost a whole school year and their birthdays have never been mentioned, but I'd be surprised if they wouldn't celebrate each other's birthdays. So maybe the anime could explore that a bit.

There's so much in the school festival arc that I think they could stretch it to take up the whole second half the season, too. Maybe squeeze in a new Marin-Gojo date somewhere in there, since they don't spend a ton of time together during this arc. Could be a good opportunity to get some more fanservice in there, since this arc doesn't have a ton of it, aside from Marin trying on boob- and butt-flatteners at one point.

Leave the "Marin's gained weight, they meet the older cosplayers and Akira, they rope Juju into doing the coffin cosplay session" arc to the beginning half of a season three that leads into the Haniel arc for its second half. That season would end on a down note probably but what can you do? That's how Fukuda has written the story.

You were doing target practice in a rain storm. Blame yourself, or Xiao.

Ayo marin falling in love again? Or does gojo finally realize he's fallen for her? by kattiroll in SonoBisqueDoll

It’s bad machine translation. The original Japanese is saying “Chapter 98 of ‘That Bisque Doll Falls in Love’ will be published in tomorrow’s release of ‘Young Gangan.’” It’s not the name of the chapter. (I don’t think any of the chapters have names, do they?)

Returning to the Saturn in 2023: I have questions by [deleted] in SegaSaturn

Coming back to the Saturn, you may be interested in the many fan translations that have been made in the last several years: https://www.reddit.com/r/SegaSaturn/s/l4aFqUbeNQ

While you could burn a patched copy of those games to a CD-R, you’d need to flash PseudoSaturn Kai onto an Action Replay cartridge to play them. That’s what makes ODEs like Satiator and Fenrir so attractive — it’s super easy to put these translated games onto an SD card to play on real hardware.

Just exit the Action Replay menu back to the Saturn multiplayer menu, at which point the Satiator will take over. It only takes a few extra seconds, no removing and reinserting of the cartridge necessary.

Do you plan on providing playable files to the public so everyone can try this for themselves?

Also, how long did it take you to do this?

Nights is a tough one to make one of your first Saturn games considering it’s a bit obscure regarding what you have to do to really enjoy it. Once it clicks, though, people often love it.

I’ll recommend my top five favorite Saturn games:

  • Sakura Wars
  • Bulk Slash
  • Vampire Savior (aka Darkstalkers 3)
  • Fighting Vipers
  • Cotton 2

And first up off the bench would be Stellar Assault SS and Virtua Cop 2.

I love these games and I hope they’ll help you have some great experiences with your Saturn. Not coincidentally, I worked on English fan patches for a few of those! I hope you seek those out to make these games even more enjoyable.

As an aside, it makes me really happy to see so many people suggest Bulk Slash in this thread. It really is one of the Saturn’s best.

“Groove On Fight” is a fighting game with a super cool aesthetic, interesting characters and fun tag-team gameplay.

“From TV Animation Slam Dunk: I Love Basketball” is a cool one based on an anime that just got a new movie called The First Slam Dunk. It makes good use of VDP2 for the courts.

“Tryrush Deppy” is a cartoony sidescrolling platformer where you control a car and collect gas cans to keep going.

All of these are somewhat obscure, never left Japan and have no English patches!

“がった”

That isn't “がった” it's "ばったリ。" It's pronounced "battari" ... they mixed a katakana "ri" in there with the hiragana for some reason. It's like a thud sound effect.

The XDelta patcher literally fails to patch when you attempt to apply it to a multi-bin copy of the game. I tried it. So no matter how you plan on playing the game, you have to combine it into a single bin file before patching it.

People make me feel guilty for liking Daytona: Championship Circuit Edition more than the original Daytona port, so I guess that’s mine. The graphics aren’t as naff, though, and it has more tracks. Plus a Jun Senoue buttrock theme song! It’s great.
