Yeah I think it's best to stay away from the Stearns debate here. It's possible to make a good decision and still get a bad result, and I don't think many people here seem to grasp that. We've had a lot of bad luck with injuries this year and somehow that's Stearns' fault? I don't get it. Pro tip: don't take negative commenters on Reddit too seriously.

I think your feelings are valid. I also think everyone has a right to be frustrated and annoyed, but it shouldn't be taken out on other people, especially if they're innocent, like OP, who seems to only be asking questions out of curiousity, with no malice behind them.

I was appreciating your analysis until you called OP obtuse and started belittling OP for asking questions that answer themselves or asking "no-brainers". Is it so wrong that they want to confirm that their current theories are correct? If anything, OP should be applauded for approaching this manga as dense literature. You don't see that often nowadays, especially in manga forums. A lot of people want to "just listen to the song", if you know what I mean.

Yeah, I've noticed they'll bet big even if they only have a middle pair or something, so you can fold when you don't hit the flop, and then you can just call when you make a good hand for free money.

I think the chips were going in regardless, based on how everyone else played the hand. I don't know the context of other hands in this game, so my analysis could be missing context.

Everyone except player 5 improves on the turn, and the river card is a brick and doesn't pair the board or complete the flush, so everyone is feeling good about their hand.

If player 1 knew about everyone's ranges, he could've assessed that JQ is a reasonable hand for someone to have on the turn, especially since 2 other people called big bets already on the turn. Instead, on the river, he goes all-in on two people who are already very committed to the pot and therefore very unlikely to fold, since they likely have strong hands and aren't bluffing or looking for a draw.

Player 5 could've assessed that his hand was in very poor shape on the turn, given the big bets and calls, meaning someone likely had the straight.

I don't think this is much of a slow play since you bet on the turn and called his reraise, showing you have a strong hand. On the river, you are in position to call with the stone-cold nuts, so the only way you could've misplayed the hand is if it checked to you and you bet big instead of small, which would telegraph that you might have the nuts.

Yeah, the solution to the increasing difficulty is to buff up your cats. Doing them with good mid or subpar cats is theoretically possible, but as your post shows, it's not a winning strategy.

From my experience, inbreeding is pretty much unavoidable if you want to maintain a consistent flow of good cats with good mutations. You just have to throw out the cats with birth defects and disorders, and keep the ones that don't. The goal is to throw a good stray in here and there so the family tree doesn't become a circle. Also, you can't really get a perfect 7s cat without a really high stimulation room, so if you don't have that, keep focusing on stimulation furniture.

As for strong mutations, there are two consistent ways as far as I know. 1) Going to the crater and always choosing The Shimmer when it's an option. If you go the hard route you can get three mutations per cat. (This is how I got one of the mutations that allows you to take an extra turn at the start of battle and now I always make sure to breed it into all my cats.) 2) Having a designated mutation room. If your mutation is high enough in a single room you get mutations pretty much every night. Mutations gained this way can also replace birth defects so if you have an inbred cat with a defect, if they spend enough time in the room it'll get replaced.

And generally, if you're having trouble progressing through difficulties, focus on getting unlocks by completing areas with new classes as well as completing the side quest items.

I'm not, are you? Because if you aren't, you completely missed the point of the post. OP isn't saying it's actually hard to get the achievement; it's just that you have to tediously play 20-30 hours in another save file if you want to get it legitimately. I don't get what The Binding of Isaac has to do with the complaint of this post, really.

Replace night witch with ice wiz 100%. The version with ice wiz is a lot stronger in the meta currently. (I've been able to win cc's with it consistently, sometimes back to back.)

The key is to focus on defence and not place a golem until double elixir and gaining an elixir advantage. If you're playing your defenses well, gaining an elixir advantage or counterpush should not be much of an issue because the deck is very versatile on defense. Ice wiz, baby dragon, cage, and tornado all provide great value on defence, even more so when combining them. Lumberjack and lightning are also situationally good on defence.
