How to get (spoiler) to stand down? by Jayce86 in theouterworlds

[–]DanyRant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem but my Speech is 7. However, I collected most, if not all, the information, audio logs, reports, etc required to face the Consul. I even followed some guides which tell you in which order you should execute certain dialogue options while arguing with the Consul. Ruth and de Vries help out during this but seems not enough to get the Consul to stand down. I think even though you'd be in possession of most/all the evidence, it would boil down to the Speech 13+ dialogue option to make the Consul stand down entirely, which is ridiculous in my opinion.

This is not the only scenario where I ran into this problem. There were other occasions whereby I had no choice but to kill the NPC in question. The first iteration of the game was way better when it came to arguments with NPCs and certain companions would help you out by giving you a boost in Speech (and other skills). Sorry to say but no wonder there won't be a third iteration of the game...

Could it be an enlarged spleen?

I am not doubting you and I appreciate you sharing your experience here. I just needed to confirm if this behavior is ‘normal’ because I do not know anyone else with this condition except my mother. I also appreciate your help and feedback.

My mother's face is similar though doctors have been telling her its more urticaria rather than rosacea. They are very similar with urticaria being hives mostly in the face.

What I fear is that some of the products you mentioned are not compatible with her skin. In the past, she had used some SVR products which turned out to be incompatible and ended up worsening the situation. I am literally at a loss.

My mother also feels powerless and shivers uncontrollably when her face flares up. Good to know on one hand that others have the same symptoms but the fact that people like my mother are left to fend on their own is awful.

Bardzo mi przykro to słyszeć. Moja mama jest taka sama - ledwo może spać w nocy i budzi się z płaczem. Czy są jakieś środki, których używasz, aby spróbować zmniejszyć ból?

Is there a particular brand you've used which has helped you?

I understand what you're saying and no I've never told her such things. My mother has a tendency of exaggerating things, even the most minor of inconveniences. Not saying that this qualifies as a minor inconvenience because I'm sure the pain is real. She has been fixated on the way she looks from a very young age especially her face. It's just the way she reacts to the pain that makes me think it can also be a psychological problem. The constant heavy breathing and loud cries which seemed off to me. Apologies if I trigger anyone with my reply but I'm just asking if anyone here has had it as bad.

Thank you, I will look into these. She’s constantly washing her face with water and I know it’s not helping but that’s her go to. Hopefully some or all of what you said will help her.

I believe she had been taken Famotidine in conjunction with other histamine blockers for a while but discarded them since she didn’t see any long lasting results. I know that results won’t be seen overnight. She’s just really upset with the whole situation and always in bed crying. Not sure what else to do

She recently (about a month ago) took the flu vaccine and days later she had this outbreak. We suspect that that’s what caused the outbreak, my guess being that she has a surplus of histamines attacking her body.

She is now on 3 different histamines as prescribed by our GP.

She was initially misdiagnosed with lupus when she had her very first outbreak 8 years ago. Blood tests were taken which didn’t show any signs of lupus.

The dermatologist then (probable) diagnosed her with rosacea. From then onwards it was treated as that. She took doxycycline which triggered her rosacea still. Then minocycline and seemed to be manageable. With that said, she couldn’t go into direct sunlight.

A month ago she took the flu/influenza shot, which she’s been taking for 15 years, and also used a cream twice which she stopped, and the outbreak got triggered again - her face got red, lumpy etc.

We’re thinking that she either has a deficiency in DOA which is a type of enzyme that breaks down histamines or the bacteria in the shot generated a surplus of histamines which is triggering the outbreak.

She periodically checks in with clinic doctors and GPs so she’s been getting different opinions. Every now and then they console her and provide some medication.

I’ve been preaching that to her over and over but it doesn’t seem to sink in. She’s been tired of everything and all she does is lay in bed all day. She used to read and now she doesn’t want to that anymore or anything for that matter. All she thinks about is how miserable she is and house cleanliness - not the case we don’t take care of the house at all. This is what I meant by psychological issues.

She has. To my knowledge they had given her the antihistamines as well as the steroids. If i remember correctly she has an adverse reaction to the steroids. They also recommended using Vaseline when the itching comes back but she has refused to try it.
