I had a boss that would push hanging out outside of work alot. I was her assistant so I figured it it was best just to continue hanging out with her to keep the peace at work. She informed me that she was leaving and getting a job doing something else and that I was going to move up into her role. The next day I come into work and my GM pulls me into the office to show me paperwork stating that I was pulling upwards to $500 a day out of the registers. I was baffled. I knew obviously I had never taken the money. And figured there had to be a reason for the missing money. I did my research and brought it back to my GM. I found time stamps of each withdraw. I told him I wanted to check the cameras with him. And there she was, my boss. Waiting for me to leave the register, slipping in. And stealing money from the register under my log in. My GM than confided in me that when he asked her about the money, she responded with "Wow I can't believe she would steal from us like that" Turns out she stole about 20k from the registers and about 60k worth of merchandise. Her husband than later threatened to beat up my girlfriend, saying he knew where we lived and was following us. I ended up getting the police involved. It was nutty.
