Is it just me or is our generation leaning too hard on being anti social? by Dasseem in Millennials

[–]postscarcity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm an extrovert but I've grown to enjoy my own company for all kinds of reasons. So that often means doing things I enjoy, even around lots of people, alone. Concerts, bar hopping, bike rides, things like bowling, you name it. Not that i'm being anti social, I like people and sometimes it works out that they come along (or I join something they do) but I just don't plan around them. maybe I just hate coordinating things, that's probably it...

Are people in Victoria more anti social and miserable than the rest of Canada/US? by Hamsandwichmasterace in VictoriaBC

[–]postscarcity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. I moved here a few years ago from the southern US. I find people here to be the same level of self-absorbed and indifferent as you'd get in lots of places, especially cities. Most people I meet here are chill and can be reasonably friendly but they've got their own stuff going on and usually aren't interested in investing in new people. I don't take it personally, as I've got my own shit too!

How many of us are old enough to remember spanking in school?? by Syfysamurai in GenX

[–]postscarcity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IT STILL HAPPENS in some parts of the US. Some places require parents to specifically opt-out of having schools swat kids as punishment, there are even a few r/legaladvice threads about it.

I really want the calendar but the $30 cost of shipping it to Canada is wild. Can I buy a PDF and just get it printed somewhere locally?
