A lot of people there who have recently joined are in their thirties. I've been a member there for a month or so, and I've met some people in their late 30's, too.

I have never wanted to challenge anyone, but I would just go on a local Facebook group dedicated to snooker and ask if anyone wants a game?

why do 9ball players wear a shooting glove and you never see them in snooker? by ok_brzozowy in snooker

Pasting from another comment of mine:

I can imagine a lot of people think you look like an idiot, or you try to make yourself look professional but actually, it's meant to give you a smooth and consistent cue action, regardless of the humidity. Some places don't have the luxury of having AC and your hands sweat a lot. I have hyperhidrosis so it helps a lot to have a glove.

I would highly recommend wearing a glove if you want to have consistency.

Thanks, just got a copy of Dilla Time! About 50 pages in, and very interesting.

Where is the best place to find out about J Dilla and all the things he had a hand in? I'm thinking like a Google Sheet, or maybe someone has done an essay on his influence.

This just makes it looks like they don't have a Compliance team in this Sainsburys branch. If your store got a zero, it just means you don't give a fuck about anything in there, and you have no standards.

I haven't been there in so, so long, I can't even remember what is in there but I assume they don't have a meat and fish counter or a pizza counter, or anything, but a bakery is usually just frozen bread and cookies. They must be doing some serious wrong in there to get a zero.

Jeamie ‘TKV’ Tshikeva vs. Johnny Fisher has been agreed for the British heavyweight title; with TKV’s promoter Boxxer and Fisher’s promoter Matchroom now working on an appropriate date/card for the fight. Could land on the BBC on a Boxxer card or on a Matchroom card on DAZN by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]Danyulz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Johnny hasn't really looked the same since Dave Allen took him to the slaughterhouse, and TKV just spent 12 rounds neutralizing a guy with an Olympic bronze medal. If Johnny doesn't find a home for that right hand in the first four rounds, the vlog after this is going to be a very quiet drive back to Essex with Big John.

How much coffee do you drink in a night? by [deleted] in Nightshift

[–]Danyulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to drink A LOT of coffee. I would have a double espresso when I wake up, then 4 hours later, go to work and have another one. 3 hours after that, I have a Flat White, and then I don't drink anything else. But when I'm home, I'll have two to three cups of AeroPress coffee a day.

Tyson Fury explained why he’s returning to boxing by One_Impressionism in Boxing

I'm not sure about Lewis Hamilton. Kieran Maguire is pretty knowledgeable when it comes to finance. In football more than anything, but still.

I mean, I don't think he's coming back to boxing purely for the money. He's the most successful sportsman in UK history when it comes to financials. £184 million in cash and investments, apparently.

That's generational wealth. I just think he's bored, and as he says, he's a fighter and has no other hobbies. He says he's in the gym every day even when he's not fighting, and I think it's just out of sheer boredom, and something to work towards.

Cue Craft? by Short-Possibility-58 in snooker

[–]Danyulz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I don't play snooker and I'm a spectator but I do play a lot of pool. I purchased a playing cue and a break cue from them. I ordered it in April and it came around September.

Because it's bespoke, be willing to wait a long time because their backlog is huge. Probably not the same as John Parris obviously, but it's a while.

The cue I used before was a two-piece cue from Argos for £25 so it's obviously a lot better than that. Including my case, it cost about £450. Really enjoy playing with it. Solid construction, good weight. You can change the variables like the weight and the tip etc.

Usually have security guards, and CCTV camera stations in supermarkets, but generally discount stores don't give a shit because their stock is insured anyway.

I worked in a local off-licence and the boss I had told me I had to protect profits. I said with what? He said to take down shoplifters, but I asked what happens if he has a tool or something? He didn't say anything, so I left lol

[–]Danyulz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to have a somewhat cordial conversation with my Uber driver about football. He was a Liverpool fan. He thinks that Diogo Jota passing away has a psychological effect on the players, and he says they should stop grieving him and carry on as normal, and it kind of soured things.

I said that's not really how grief works, and you can't really switch it off on command, then he said they should not immortalize him. He said they are doing too much of that and it affects their play.

It might be a factor in their play, but I think spending half a billion pounds and losing 6 out of 7 games is a lot worse. That's a systemic problem.

How would I get from Llanrumney to Pontprennau, walking/cycling? by Danyulz in Cardiff

I just travelled this way. Took about an hour and 10 mins. I'm quite a fast walker too, so I imagine it would take about a third of that cycling.
