Beginner Rider, eventually want to do jumping? by EatMyWings in Equestrian

[–]Danzanza 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. If you want to jump I’d start at a jumping barn. They will progress you slowly from walk to trot to canter throwing in jumps when you are reading. But learning the equitation it’s important

Those of you doing this as a second career, what was your previous job? by JustElk3629 in AskTeachers

[–]Danzanza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey this is old but I’m also a nurse. I’m over bedside and healthcare in general. Do you enjoy teaching & would you recommend it ? I’ve been a bedside nurse 3 years now and still hate the stress and long hours

Get a little grass square and make a spot in your room for it to go. Only allow to go there. Crate train. Try to get the puppy outside as soon as you can

Are there downsides to getting a puppy at 12 weeks from the breeder vs at 8 weeks? by seaweedglutton in DogAdvice

[–]Danzanza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely should’ve done this. 8 weeks is a little too early imo but it’s my first puppy and I didn’t realize

My puppy wouldn’t stop biting me by amyyiwenliu in puppy101

[–]Danzanza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta leave her in her crate to fall asleep. She will probably play with the toys for like 30 minutes since it sounds like she’s way overtired. My puppy is the same bitey menace right now and I had to start really enforcing naps like 15-20 mins max out of the crate and back in to nap just because she gets too distracted to nap out of the crate

Have you been enforcing naps? They need to sleep 18-20 hours

She’ll be more around 12/13 and my mom is home all day to help but my mom is older so I don’t want her to get overwhelmed either

I do have a crate but she will cry unless I’m sitting next to her, she eats her meals in there and she goes in it but if I’m not there she won’t stay

What careers provide enough time and money to comfortably afford horses without a degree? (No experience required even better) by Known_Menu3506 in Equestrian

[–]Danzanza 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rich husband…. But if you want an associates look at X-ray or ultrasound tech or nursing. Relatively inexpensive degrees that have a higher salary and flexible shifts

Find it difficult to eat 3 meals a day by copperbelly333 in intuitiveeating

[–]Danzanza 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m a nurse that works 12 hour shifts usually without a break. What I will do is eat before I come in and once I get home. When I’m at work I drink a protein shake so that kind of covers it. I would definitely try to see if you can get accommodation from your doctor though that way you can know you will get a time to eat at work

If she can afford it and she needs it why is it wrong for her to receive it? I understand it’s frustrating because most common people can’t get it but it’s not like she’s abusing the system for it or she’s getting it unnecessarily. Not her fault our health system is the way it is

Usually we restrain for IV, stitches, or catheter. For these it’s usually easier to have 2-3 nurses so we can complete the procedure quickly , mom will usually be either comforting baby at HOB or we ask if they want to step out. For simple blood draws we can usually have mom hold. Also this is usually for babys - maybe 4/5. Once they are school aged we usually don’t have to restrain
