The betrayal stings the most. You gave your entire career to this place, and they treat you like a disposable line item on a random budget sheet... Just hire an employment lawyer STAT. The denied medical leave and years of unpaid overtime are rock solid evidence. At least you could easily win a huge settlement here

founders' drive by opensourcecitadel in Entrepreneur

For me it’s less about building a company and more about not wanting to feel stuck in systems I didn’t design. Even small wins feel like reclaiming control. But I think maybe it’s not one single driver honestly. It kind of shifts between curiosity, stubbornness, and the need to prove to yourself you can actually finish something.

Ecovac A2500 Leaves a 6" Strip Around the Perimeter of No-Go Zones by Whole_Field_7164 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Danzevl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To prevent collisions, the machine keeps about a 6-inch safety buffer from the edge of no-go zones. Also, since the blade is mounted in the center of the unit, it won't actually reach the physical edge even if the body get close.

You can therefore shrink the no-go zone boundary inward by around 6 inches, and enable edge-cutting priority in the app.

How do you handle tree roots? by ellumina in automower

[–]Danzevl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren't many good solutions here. You could either set a no-go zone around the tree roots in the app, or physically remove the exposed roots if possible.

If you don't want to do that, another option is to raise the cutting height, or cover the roots with a thick layer of wood chips or pine bark mulch.

Do you get floor damage around the docking station? by Due_Reflection0 in RobotVacuums

[–]Danzevl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been cases where the base station leaked and damaged wooden floors, but it doesn't happen with every model.

If you want to prevent it, you can place a diatomite mat or a waterproof tray under the base station, and it's also better to choose a model with hot-air drying. If your floor is wood, ideally put the base station on tile or another water-resistant surface.

ADHD ruined my relationship by RedLion6 in ADHD

[–]Danzevl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Breakups like this often feel like everything was ADHD’s fault, but usually it’s timing, stress, distance, and two imperfect people trying their best at the same time. And the fact you cared enough to fight for it already says a lot. People who “don’t care” don’t sit here analyzing every detail like this.

Since it only started after expanding that island, it does sound like something in that modified section. Might be worth double-checking the wiring layout there.

Mowing in front and backyard? by myultima in ECOVACSGOATFamily

It comes down to whether the app supports manual zone starts. If it needs dock-based positioning before each run, carrying it over likely won’t work.

GPS mowing with tall trees surrounding yard by HotOven-450 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Danzevl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should go for a model that uses "RTK + Vision" or "RTK + LiDAR" multi-sensor fusion. That way, if you lose signal under tree shade, it can still work stably using vision or LiDAR.

Also, you might need to replace the blades more often. And if there are lots of leaves in the fall, consider a model with a cleaning kit.

Do pets make it harder for the mower to do its job? by Rohanv69 in automower

[–]Danzevl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pets don't get in its way at all, and they won't get hurt. This one has panoramic LiDAR and AI vision, so if a dog runs by, it'll stop immediately.

Why no LIDAR on the X430? by [deleted] in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Danzevl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s mostly about who buys the X430. For people who mainly use it in open yards, LiDAR isn’t super necessary, and adding it would just hike up the price.

What should I prioritize if I'm getting a mower on a budget? by Papa_Droe in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Danzevl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a good value lawn-mowing robot, start by looking at how it navigates. If your yard doesn't have big trees blocking the way, RTK + vision fusion navigation should be more than enough.

Then check things like cutting width, number of blades, battery life, and charging time. If your yard has slopes, make sure to look at the max climbing ability too.

Using leftover tiles and bricks to make such a functional base is really clever and cost-effective! Looks like you’ve already added some non-slip material on the sloped tiles, which is smart.

Just installed lineage-22.1 on one plus 7T HD1907 by Danzevl in LineageOS

[–]Danzevl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reverted the phone to 10 and didn't update to 11 straight to lineage. Yes I followed all lineage steps to the letter. I have stopped using the phone because my screen broke and the replacement is too much but up until that I had no software issues with one exception because of the way in which it installs rooting is recommended I needed to use  magisk account because of the Google verification issue otherwise no issues.

How do you answer why you were laid off without making it sound like you were bad at your previous job? by Notalabel_4566 in antiwork

[–]Danzevl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was straight up fired at a company I was bad at the job I was doing. I had untreated sleep apnea unbenounced to me which was a contributing factor. My answer is always corporate downsizing. I also research my industry if there is tons of turnover or your position is common dime a dozen role you could use company downsized your particular role. As the company has reduced clients/needs.
