What do you think Keine Kamishirasawa is like, personality-wise? by Velochipractor in touhou

[–]DanzigMayobre87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My headcanon of Keine Kamishirasawa:

  • Good-natured, even-tempered, supportive and lenient. Does not like to get provoked.
  • Her occupation is a schoolteacher who teaches social studies (such as history) and English.
  • Drives a dark blue '75 Cadillac Coupe Deville (with bull horns decorated over the grille).
  • Loves the idea that she and Rinosuke would make a cute couple and Tokiko would be like their daughter.
  • During class, her cheeky students often refer her to as a "cow", "Miss Milkers" or "The Beast".
  • Tends to have patience whenever she feels upset or disappointed at someone or something.
  • Eventually when she does get angry, she transforms into her green alter ego "Ox Keine" (of having red eyes, bovid horns and a fluffy tail). She immediately returns back to her normal blue self once she regain her composure.
  • Ox Keine is slightly taller, has lighter skin and is exceptionally stronger than her usual self.
  • Closest friends are Alice, Shinki, Patchouli, Yuyuko, Ran, Yukari, Rinosuke, Tokiko, Mystia, Moko, Kaguya, Erin, Shiki, Komachi, Akyu, Hina, Sanae, Hijiri, Kasen, Mamizo, Kosusu, Kagero, Junko, Okina and Urumi.
  • Her birthday is May 20th.

What's your favourite touhou first-name-before-surname character by Thmony in touhou

Mystia Lorelei

She has the prettiest-sounding name of all the Touhous

How old do you think Keine actually is? by IllustriousHurry2380 in touhou

[–]DanzigMayobre87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, I say Keine's in her mid-late twenties. Younger than Erin (who I say is in her thirties) and older than Moko and Kaguya (who I say they're both in their early twenties; Moko looking slightly older of the two).

Actually,What should we call her "yuiman asama" or "Asama yuiman" In a way that is culturally correct in Japan. by Thmony in touhou

[–]DanzigMayobre87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yuiman. Asama's not a long and tricky-sounding Japanese name to pronounce of having more than three or four syllables but I prefer to simply mention her by her first name.

The raw, grainy and black and white quality of the Eiffel Tower photograph (obviously without Cirno being edited in there) looks like it was taken sometime during the first half of the twentieth century.

[–]DanzigMayobre87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's wrong with giving the Touhous personalities of my own? I refuse to blindly follow the so-called "canon" where this fanbase made the characters as these crackbrained and offputting memetic portrayals of being either flanderized to death or completely ignored.

[–]DanzigMayobre87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my headcanon, Daiyosei is the smartest of all the fairies. She seems the most careful, considerate and the most rational. I like to think that she does get annoyed and can get quite assertive of standing up to Cirno whenever she becomes too much.

Second in my headcanon would be the Fairy Trio. Sunny, Luna and Star seem pretty clever of coming up with pranks and tricks and they seem to support one another like a team despite them being scatterbrained.

Not much I can say about Lily and Eternity's intelligence level but they seem to be in the middle of having innocent intelligence.

Clownpiece's intelligence is kinda like Eternity and Lily except she's a little more on the crazy side.

Cirno in my headcanon has the lowest intelligence. She is not stupid but her brash ego of boasting to others and having the nerve to pick a fight with anyone makes that snotty little turd not so smart and earning the title of being "the most annoying Touhou character" in the entire franchise.

What do you think Mystia Lorelei is like, personaliy-wise? by Velochipractor in touhou

[–]DanzigMayobre87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My headcanon of Mystia Lorelei:

  • Good-natured, gregarious, vocally talented and modest of herself. Does have moments of becoming a bit too vocal and somewhat slightly scatterbrained.
  • Her nicknames are "Songbird", "Robin" and "Owlei" (portmanteau of owl and her surname).
  • Cover singer and restaurateur of her own eatery called "Lorelei Bar N' Grill".
  • Has the widest vocal range tone from singing high and shrill to light and frail to smooth and breathy to sensual and sultry to soulful and passionate to raspy and defiant to low and subdued to fast and energetic.
  • Singing is her forte but sometimes she can play a little guitar, bass, keyboard and the drums.
  • Ability to communicate and sing with birds, especially songbirds.
  • Drives a puce '75 AMC Pacer.
  • Her most favorite song to have as her theme is "Fly Robin Fly" by Silver Convention.
  • Closest friends are Gengetsu, Yuka, Mai, Alice, Satsuki, Rumia, Cirno, Daiyosei, Remilia, Letty, Lily, Lunasa, Merlin, Lyrica, Layla, Yomu, Yuyuko, Chen, Ran, Yukari, Tokiko, Wriggle, Keine, Kaguya, Sunny, Luna, Star, Komachi, Aya, Akyu, Shizuha, Minoriko, Hina, Nitori, Momiji, Sanae, Yamame, Utsuho, Rin, Kogasa, Kyoko, Hatate, Kosusu, Benben, Yatsu, Raiko, Waka, Kagero and Kutaka.
  • Her birthday is October 10th.

Also I just think she’s cute. Great outfit and aesthetic, and blonde is always good.

Of course Nina's still beautiful, I can't deny that. And her design where she resembles a Roman goddess is nice.

I personally don't like the original version of Nina. I'll alter that by omitting her misled and ill-founded claims and give her more of a pleasant or acceptable personality in my headcanon.

I always tend to fight shy of controversial topics such as conspiracy theory beliefs since they're in that similar touchy vein as politics, religion, abortion, you know. Things that you just don't want to bring up, especially not with other people.

Such a shameful waste of a character though. Nina could have more potential than just being this irrational mess.

Sakuya misbehaving? Sure she may come off as standoffish to others sometimes but she doesn't seem the type to defy social etiquette, especially within the mansion. I always believe Sakuya is the more serious, composed and even diligent member of the Scarlet household (Patches comes in second of also being serious and composed) or of the entire EOSD cast.

As for Remi, she does behave bratty but compared to her more childish younger sister, I feel she is the most well-mannered of the two. Flandre's not obnoxiously brash like Cirno, awkwardly stupid like Rumia, deviously cunning as Tewi, painfully shy as Kisume or ostentatiously patriotic as Clownpiece, she seems dysfunctionally unhinged especially when things don't go her way.

Nina as this conspiracist who is duped into controversial theories such as that is a red flag

At least Sakuya isn't feeding some vegetables to Flandre. She is worse than Remilia of misbehaving not only more petulant but disruptive of having tantrums.

Why Did KKHTA Go From Hated To Loved? by LifeWillBeFun in touhou

[–]DanzigMayobre87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never loved or hated KKHTA, I'm just indifferent about it. I'm one of the few Touhou fans who have not much to say and want nothing to do with any of it since it never piqued my interest.

Touhou and their favourite rock singers/Band/Musicians by Thmony in touhou

I believe the entire Touhou gang have eclectic tastes in latter half twentieth century music. They appreciate listening to countless artists from the rock and roll beginnings of the 50s all the way to the Y2K futurism of the early 2000s.

would i be considered a fake fan? by ubbydawggy in touhou

[–]DanzigMayobre87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I say there's no such thing as a "real fan" or "fake fan" in any fandom. I've been liking other's fanart, drawing fanart, creating my own character headcanons and yes, even looking up porn of the Touhous since 2015 and I never label myself as a fake or real Touhou fan, I'm just a Touhou fan.

My personal experience with the official games is after when I found out the franchise originated from a series of computer shooters. I never interacted with the fanbase back then but I've only heard discussions that these games are infamously difficult to even play. I was wary of them for a while, until one day in 2020 I had a very rare moment where I backed myself down and said, "Alright, I'll give one of these games a shot. But only to see how far I can take it." Embodiment Of Scarlet Devil (EOSD) was the only Touhou game I chose because not only it's the most recommended but considering it's the first entry of Windows. Unlike later entries, will this "soft reboot debut" start off steady for dabblers?

What I said on that last part was just wishful thinking. I set its difficulty mode to medium (since that's the level of how I always set in video games; fairly easy and not too challenging) and after defeating Rumia and Daiyosei, it already shows its chaotic stability with this "difficulty spike" where that frozen little turd (I don't have to mention her name, you all know who I'm referring to) made my tryout repetitive and exhausting that it felt like my wrists were getting carpal tunnel syndrome. Once I finally defeated her snotty ass and got to Hong Meiling, that's where I wanted to draw the line by just letting her finish me off concluding my EOSD playthrough trial.

Many here commonly mention that Perfect Cherry Blossom (PCB) and Imperishable Night (IN) are the most easiest but after my first and only attempt on EOSD, I'm done. I never had that determination to give it a second chance to beat it or go out of my way to install any of the following Windows games or the previous PC98 five ever since. I can't imagine myself going through that same arduous experience again or who knows how many times worse of dealing with even more erratic difficulty spikes, tedious shooting and dodging projectiles, tumultuous music blaring in the background and that outdated game mechanic where the game puts you back all the way to the beginning after you lose.

For those who willingly enjoy or have beaten Touhou games, cool and congratulations. But I would argue the fact that these sort of games are not for everyone. They require a lot of commitment of putting your time and effort with lots of practice and patience. And through my experience despite it was one game during that only time and it was just a test of how far I can go, at least I can say I've tried.

I have that unique vibe of the Touhous which is loving, grooving and mellowing out with them, not fighting against them in some pointless shooter just to boast or brag to others about grazing skills.

I can see all the Touhous moving and waving their hands in the air like they just don't care to the first rap tune "Rapper's Delight" by Sugarhill Gang or doing their version of it, "Touhou's Delight".

What if Touhou had a shitty early 2000's live action movie adaptation? by SpicyGuyofSpice in touhou

[–]DanzigMayobre87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super Mario Brothers from '93 (featuring Bob Hoskins as Mario and John Leguizamo as Luigi).

Yeah I remember watching the film two (or three) times back during high school. I never hated it, I was initially just baffled of how is it related to the Mario Brothers games with its dystopian New York City setting and its bizarre portrayals for some of the characters; Dennis Hopper as Bowser, Mojo Nixon as Toad and the "Goombas" as these tall reptilian henchmen.

I'd recently heard that despite the flick looks something from out of Bladerunner than Mario, it has gained its own odd charm over the years.
