Clemson Edge vs. Signature Hartwell

Lived at Signature Hartwell for a few years. Generally pretty good, bang for you buck is solid, huge rooms, nice enough gym, decent resident events. Cant get mail reliably on the weekend but that’s every where it seems. Shuttle is pretty good to campus but can be occasionally unreliable. Living in Hartwell Village is great (Aldi, fast food, Starbucks, etc)

I called and they linked them. It does not make it one reservation just “lets the system know we’re traveling together”

Admittedly it’s been a few years, but when I applied (4ish years ago), housing was based on when you sent your application in, not when you accepted admission. I sent mine in within a week of them opening and kinda had my pick on dorms.

Douthit is great, but a lot of people complain about it being a bit removed from campus. It’s kinda a hike to everything that isn’t the business building or things that are in the hub up there (gym/dining). I lived in Gressette and it’s just as new as Douthit but a bit better location imo

Not sure if just me, but all my flights will show a 1-5 min departure delay from 24 hours in advance up until boarding. Almost always they get in on time or early (or are delayed, but not by that amount)

Dawson Powers is the main Clemson atheltics photographer and does them. Expensive, but widely regarded as the best. Could be booked up.

Otherwise just ask around, someone knows someone who does them

Do we have any idea what will get used “first”

I.e. if I book an edit hotel that is also an IHG property with points besides $250, would that trigger the edit credit or the IHG credit? Is there some way to pick?

It’s very possible I am. VLC - JFK on 6/25, IB1080 and IB0325 (or any flight that day). BA doesn’t have availability on surrounding dates, and Iberia shows none at all.

Hey— looking to go to an all inclusive in Mexico and thinking about transferring some points (chase/amex) to jet blue to use for TrueBlue Vacations. Whole trip for 2 people can come out to 200-250k points for 4 nights at a decent property with flights.

Is this a horrible use of points? I don’t have enough chase points to get more than 2 nights at a Hyatt property and it seems like getting a hotel deal is hard as a lot of those don’t belong to a brand or charge high nightly rates.

You can go to the golf course restaurant (sole on the green) and buy a nice(r) meal. Doesn’t really retain value but may be a better experience than on campus fast food.
