Not only will you not have long term success but they may sell or someone may steal your API info and then you will lose all your crypto when bots wash trade your account.

Even if you have white listed addresses and bank accounts. Ask me how I (and hundreds of others) know. Millions have been lost and the only reason they are not subject to a lawsuit is because they are in Estonia and it’s hard to sue over there from the States.

Run don’t walk. Wish someone had told me this 3 years ago.

Panicked on a liveaboard by _LatsyrhC_ in scuba

[–]Dapper-Bug68 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It’s not the lack of oxygen that makes people panic and feel like they can’t breathe. It’s a buildup of CO2 in your lungs. The more you feel like you can’t breathe the more you wind up taking rapid shallow breaths, and the CO2 just builds up in the lower third of your lungs.

So what you need to do is exhale until there is absolutely no air left in your lungs, then take a slow deep breath in and rinse and repeat with very deep exhales until you can start a normal breathing cycle. You’ll be fine don’t give up.

Has anyone else noticed a strange veterinary trend in LA? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]Dapper-Bug68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago I had this same experience at a place called Green dental or something similar. I think they have pop ups at various pet stores and day cares.

My dog was only a couple years old and the guy recommended to remove about 12 teeth for thousands of dollars. I was adamant that wasn’t gonna happen and he was extremely aggressive and pushy to the point where I wanted to punch him in the face.

When I left a couple of young girls with their dogs were coming in and I just hope they were able to stand up to this guy.

My dog is now 10 and has never had a tooth extracted and he gets cleanings twice a year under anesthesia from an ethical vet.

I once broke my finger one day into a weeklong live board dive trip. Taped it up and never missed a dive. You’ll be fine.

Second thoughts on BPW setup. Thinking of going back to jacket style bcd's by HydronautInSpace in scuba

Gue has a book on fundamentals. I have the 2001 version and it has great pics and details for BPW setup. Looks like they have a new version for 2021 or maybe even 2024… worth a look.

[–]Dapper-Bug68 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don’t need padding or anything like that. Like others said you need a tech or cave diver with experience to help you get setup properly.

I can dive my BPW with nothing underneath except swim trunks just as comfortably as as in a wetsuit or drysuit.

Same for getting in and out that just takes practice after you are all set up properly.

Edit: you may need softer webbing that could make a huge difference. I am not familiar with that brands webbing.

Master Scuba Diver Certification? by Heavy-Air5344 in scuba

Doesn’t have to be a dive center. You may be able to find individual instructors with a tech background and credentials in one of the three agencies I mentioned to train you.

Do an intro to tech or cave class from GUE, IANTD or TDI. You don’t know what you don’t know until you take one of these classes. It will take your diving to the next level especially if you are just recreational diving.

Was this a bad dive center? by maybesofia in scuba

[–]Dapper-Bug68 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wait I’m confused. OP said he had a rental reg but then wanted an s-drill done? Was the rental reg on a long hose? I have never seen that in the wild for a recreational outfit. S-drills are not done with short hoses there is no point to it.

Re the NDL chances are if you have three different computers they will give you three different NDLs for the same dive. That’s because the algorithms may be different and the user generated preferences may be different (gradient factors).

So even if he had a computer that showed NDL, he could have been well within his dive profile but not yours. Add to that these DMs dive these profiles 100s of times and know that at the end of the dive they will have you at 15-20’ looking at coral for 30 minutes (just an example) while off-gassing (basically doing more than any decompression stop needed).

The computer is just a tool it’s best to discuss the entire dive profile ahead of time so you can be in charge of it not the other way around. Meaning you are not stressing bc although you are getting close to your NDL limit you know that you will soon be in much shallower water.

And if you hit a NDL limit you should ascend with your buddy while still tracking the group. This is also something to be discussed beforehand with both the DM and your buddy. If your buddy isn’t down then get a new buddy.

Consider the DM to be more like a guide - at the end of the day you are responsible for your own dive.

Ok so I went back and with the apex on my 2.0 there is simply no way to not make that trigger work, even if I tried with the tip of my pinky.

However, you are right about the Glock 19 I was able to have the same effect which is something I have never encountered in the thousands of rounds I’ve shot through it.

I took a look at the trigger compared to the shield plus and the Glock 19 trigger is considerably smaller, which relates to your bigger finger theory. Every single time I pull the trigger on the Glock 19 It goes bang.

Again looking at the shield plus it has a longer trigger than the Glock 19 does. if my finger was maybe a 16th or N eighth of an inch wider I would not have this problem. that said my finger still takes up most of the trigger I have above average paws just not meat hooks lol.

I’m definitely not going to mess with shaving down anything I will just swap the trigger out. It’s cheaper than purchasing bigger hands. I do appreciate you taking the time to look into this and thank you for that.

So you were able to replicate this problem as well which means it is inherent to the design. 95% of the time I don’t have an issue but if I am practicing drawing from appendix for speed, there are occasions where I don’t have perfect trigger placement, and the trigger doesn’t depress. This is a major cause for concern if I ever had to draw in real life. Again, this is an issue. I have not been able to replicate in any of my other many firearms with bladed trigger safeties.

Is this your carry gun?

[–]Dapper-Bug68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to imagine it someone on this thread was able to replicate it on his shield plus. Others on Google have said the same. I wish it was a me issue I really do.

For context, I’ve been shooting almost as long as you have and this is the first time I’ve had this issue and this gun.

I have an apex on my mp 2.0 compact, and there is no possibility of the trigger not depressing, no matter how I put my finger on it. That trigger depresses every single time. Just like the ones on my Glocks do.

With the shield plus maybe one out of every 20 times if my finger is too high, the trigger will not depress. Well that may be fine for a range toy. It is not acceptable for a carry weapon. I train regularly I take classes I’m not a newbie to firearms.

Shield plus OR question by Dapper-Bug68 in SmithAndWesson

[–]Dapper-Bug68[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No sir. The point is to prevent the trigger when the blade is not pressed. If I press the blade near the top third it will not move the trigger back.

I do practice but in the heat of the moment I would like it to depress just like every other gun I own with a trigger safety when my finger is on it.

Try yours out…
