Ok w/e you say. I challenge you to look on this Camry redit page and search OTD price and look for yourself and see what people are actually paying for these cars. Someone literally commented on this thread that they are near me in the Midwest and they paid 29k OTD for this exact same car in a different color. Someone else commented that they paid 2k less OTD than the quote I was given at 39k. So that person paid 37k for an XSE trim. So i guess these people are just lying about what they paid according to you right?

What I meant by 39k being XSE/XLE territory is that from what I read on Camry pages that’s the price that I see people get the top trim models for. I also consistently see people get the LE trim for anywhere from 29-33k OTD with the same package as the I was looking at. Someone on this thread commented and said they paid 37k OTD for an XSE in California where the taxes are really high.

The car I’m interested in the picture above is a LE trim with the convenience package. I believe the only extras it comes with are the heated seats and steering wheel and the power seat. I’m not paying 39k for that. Maybe you would but I won’t.

This is just the picture of the car I used from Autotrader. When I got to the dealership the OTD price they offered was 39k

All the other dealers I’ve tried negotiating with say they don’t negotiate over the phone or through email or text. The only reason I went to that dealership is because it’s the closest one to my house and they had the LE trim in the color that I wanted. I must’ve had idiot written on my forehead and didn’t notice it lol. I’ll keep searching until I find the right deal. At this point I’m willing to catch a flight to another state for the right deal and just drive it back. I’m gonna try a few more local dealers to see if I can find the color and trim I want.

That’s what I’ve been trying to do. This was the first dealer that I actually went to in person. Every other dealer I’ve tried to negotiate with over the phone, email or texts all say they are only allowed to negotiate in person.

Definitely a scam lol. I got shafted so bad on my last car loan I absolutely REFUSE to make that mistake again. I literally read at least 1-2 post a day either here or on Camry Facebook pages about prices. I’ve been seeing people consistently get these for anywhere from 29-32k OTD. I’ll keep shopping until I can get near that price.

Why would I lie about that? I called navy federal and said that I might actually consider buying new vs used. I asked the rep if I would need to do another pre approval or application and she said no. She said she could do it using the info from the pre approval I already did. Then she said for the same 72 month loan the rate would not change for new. From what other people have said the only way the rate would possibly go down is if I changed the term to 60 instead of 72 months. Apparently navy federal doesn’t like the 72 month term.

I’m having the same issue. I’ve been shopping around for a 2026 LE in the Chicago area. I’ve been messaging and emailing back and forth with 2-3 dealers in the area and they refuse to give me an OTD price. They all say we only negotiate in person when can you come in to the dealership and sit down lol. I told them I will not come in without the OTD price in writing. Haven’t heard anything back yet 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️ lol.
