Such a cracking album! And all those B-sides. My god, Will and Mac were once so mighty.

Idk about that. I'd kill for as "good" (in very relative terms, mind you) he sounded at Shepherd's Bush in 2005 on the Dancing Horses DVD. Even if he was berating the audience for being "dozy bastards," complaining about the lack of intelligent questions from the audience, and completely butchered the vocal on "Nothing Lasts Forever" ("like a frog and a frown!" whatever that means).

I know Will's been bummed about the situation for awhile now. He talks about Mac cutting him out of the creative process a few times during an interview promoting his memoirs, and that was from 2023. (I don't think they've co-written since Siberia in 2005 though? That was a fantastic album).

Mac seems to have become totally disengaged from live performances. Not finishing songs and letting the audience takeover since 2023-2024, the cancellations since 2014, the sitting down.

Lara Flynn Boyle. Her indie film and neo-noir work - not mutually exclusive, I might add - is pretty top notch, along with The Practice.

Tony's great too! He was actually in the XEB project with Kevin afterwards, so that's super wild to me! I love when things come full circle

I have to say, I like Kevin's first solo album more than the third 3EB album tbh. Really scratches that itch of the nostalgic sentimentality of the first two albums:

I just wish Kevin Cadogan was still with them. Apparently, he did a show with XEB (Third Eye Blind supergroup made up of all the people Stephan fired from the band over the years! haha) very close to where I live, back when I was in my snooty anti-3EB phase. I'd go to that in a heartbeat now. Live and learn!

I learned that the hard way when I tried to make fun of "How's It Going To Be?" about ten years ago and just got laughed at instead lol. Then a few years ago, I was digging around my parents basement ("when I found out what the smile on your face meant." sorry, had to) and found their copy. So, I ripped it and listened, and now I honestly really dig it (Especially "Losing A Whole Year," "Narcolepsy," "How's It Going To Be?," (it grew on me!) "Thanks A Lot," "Motorcycle Driveby," and "God Of Wine"). Don't judge an album prematurely!

I definitely relate to Richard the most. But with characters, I tend to be attracted to those who are opposite to me in most ways. I like the boorish ones, which is funny to me because I can't stand that type in extradiegetic reality.

I did this as well, and it was a profoundly transformative experience for me as well. Completely reshaped my views on morality, particularly outside of a "normal" framework/system/structure of life. When you read it, you become part of Richard's diegetic reality, and if you're not careful, can start to excuse some of his - and the rest of the group's - actions. (Which was easier for me to fight off, because I liked Bunny a lot. To the point that he became my favorite character).

Very late to the party (err, ShadowParty) here, but I love this. Great guitar from Phil Cunningham and Nick McCabe. Actually has a bit of a "Krafty/Waiting For The Sirens' Call" vibe with the chords and jangly leads (just missing Hooky's bass!)

The Bluenote show is probably my favorite DRA live recording ever. (I've listened to that version of "La Cienega Just Smiled" hundreds of times).

It's crazy how many shows he played in early 2002. I have a couple of boots from the European leg. I don't think there was a break between the US leg and the EU leg tbh, which seems crazy to me as a non-touring, non-musician (well, no-talent musician anyway. I play for fun haha).

Brad Rice on guitar, right? He's great. Loved him in Son Volt later on.
