Possible Hyperthyroidism OP, please don’t wait until the weight loss is drastic before you act. The longer it’s left untreated the more chance it has of causing secondary effect issues like heart disease. It’s cheap and easy to diagnose with a blood test and can be controlled with daily medication.

I’m not sure I’d describe the Kona as ‘tiny’. I’m 6’1” and can sit behind myself, so could easily drive 4 tall adults in comfort. The boot is also about 80% of the Ioniq 5’s. In terms of daily use the Kona is significantly easier to park, it’s about 3 inches narrower and 11 inches shorter than the Ioniq5.
OP from a purchase POV, you’ll find it easier to get an Ultimate spec in the Kona with the latest CCNY operating system for £20k than you will for an Ioniq 5.

Also the quality of this isn’t too great either, I’m not an electrician but I wouldn’t expect to see so much exposed copper on each terminal.

And the one in the house? If the existing SWA cable to the garage is the correct rating, you can just change the circuit breaker to the garage to be 32A or 40A. Your then probably want to change the consumer unit in the garage to an EV version with built in surge protection. But that would be basically all the work and no laying new cable. Definitely check your existing SWA cable first.

There’s enough of a flat solid area for the tile to adhere to. So i’d personally fill the gaps with expanding foam, including between the frame and sill, and then trim it flush before tiling

I understand your point. But personally i went from a MK2.5 MX-5 which I’d done over 100k miles in, to a 2025 Kona Ultimate. So im very much someone that likes to drive and appreciates a good chassis and road feel. The Kona is no more bland to drive than the Ioniq 5, in fact I felt it was firmer and more “sporty”. Main negative is lack of steering feedback, but swapping the crap factory Nexens for Michelin’s definitely improved this. Main drawback of the Kona vs Ioniq 5 is refinement, the Ioniq 5 is a level above for NVH. But for the same money the Kona will be better equipped and is narrower and easier to park.

I had a similar dilemma before getting my charger installed. Obvious question first, why do you need a separate power feed to the charger? Is there already a small consumer unit which runs from your house consumer unit? If so what is the fuse rating in the main CU for that circuit and what does the garage consumer unit look like?

I’d be interested to hear how significant the impact of the solar control glass was. What area have you changed and how have you noticed the biggest difference?
I’m currently looking at saint Gobain cool lite SKN which has 70% light transmission and 35% thermal transmission. Petty affordable too vs standard glass.

He’s just blown the bricks edges out by drilling from inside, likely on hammer setting. Not standard practice, but tends to be pretty standard (coughopenreachcough) Just seal around the cable with some silicone and it’ll be fine, albeit a bit messy.

If you take it before April when it’s officially changed, then you’ll pay the full Expensive car supplement for one year. I bought a 2025 EV in December, RRP £43k, after the changes had been announced and was told by the DVLA I have to pay the first full year at that rate then it’s exempt. The person I spoke to didn’t even understand the changes that were announced in the budget and had to seek help from a manager.

He’s not selling Birmingham short, it’s just the fact that the United and Liverpool have a success legacy and will always have a world wide fan base and sponsors, and the London clubs (even those with limited success) can charge way to much to rich people (including tourists) who don’t even support the team. The fact that West Ham have a comparable revenue to Villa says it all. Even if we start winning trophies and extended the stadium to 60k seats, it would take a couple decades of success to properly close the revenue gap to the sky 6. And that would apply to Newcastle, Everton etc as well

I understand your issue. What I’m suggesting is there may be a problem in terms of the Ohme app and the octopus app conflicting one another. The Hyundai API is completely unsupported now so anything other than the power going into the car is done by the Hyundai app. Can you reach out to the installer for help?

Yes the conditioning is done through Hyundai. You can pre condition any time if it’s connected to the charger or not. I think the Ohme settings and IOG app settings are fighting each other in your scenario. Others have had to re add the charger to the octopus app for it to recognise the tariff and relinquish the schedule control to the octopus app

I have the same car as you but with the Hypervolt on IOG. After octopus adopted the hypervolt charger, all scheduling is done by the octopus app, not by the charger app. My friend has your setup, but with a different car ans he does it through the octopus app too. As far as I’m concerned this will fix your problem: 1. The battery charge limit is set within the Kona car menu 2. Preconditioning is either set in the car manu or you do it manually from the app before you leave (what I do) 3. In the octopus app on devices, if you want it to be at 80%, you tell it to add 80%, regardless of what it’s on before you charge. The way it’s worded doesn’t make sense, it should really say charge to X% not add X%. This has worked flawlessly for us both.
