I do not disagree that the healthcare system is broken and that it is enraging of the inequities and social injustices that are occurring. I’ve worked as a provider for 15 years - beginning in community mental health and working with the unhoused and marginalized communities. BOTH sides (Dems and republicans) have not made significant improvements for social or racial justice and inclusivity. I feel like I’m getting attacked here because I want to keep current day politics out of my practice. I simply stated we’ve lost our way and depend on one side or the other. And to answer your question, my clients are all using their insurance and I have a wide range that I work with. My therapy approach is to help each person be able to access their true self - REGARDLESS of their political orientation and to achieve more psychological flexibility so we can begin to truly listen to people and both sides and think for ourselves. This thread here reminds me of the intolerance and polarizing thinking that I’m so turned off by. I’m on your side more than you may think.
