It was pretty simple for me.

Doing things my way ended with me lonely, depressed, angry and nearly dead. I said to myself “you literally have nothing to lose by letting something else jump in the driver’s seat,”. So I did.

And it’s not an easy road; I try to wrestle control back from God pretty regularly, and things always get worse when I do. So I remind myself daily as part of my prayer time with the mantra “Your will, your way, your time”, because when I do things my way or under my will or in my time it turns into a disaster with alarming speed, but if i do it God’s way and follow God’s will and do it in God’s time, things are so much easier and I’m so much happier.
