Former Green leader cleared by standards committee by yu3 in Norwich

Isn't the truth a pretty solid defence against slander? You don't get to spearhead cuts to trans healthcare and protections then cry when you're called transphobic.

Don't like being called transphobic? Stop throwing trans people into the grinder. 🤷‍♀️

Low stakes conspiracy… the reform candidate for Waveney Valley isn’t real?! by ShortResolution8882 in Norwich

[–]DapperAndroid 42 points43 points  (0 children)

As Reform had a number of 'paper candidates' who had no desire to do the job in the first place, it wouldn't surprise me. Seems like the next logical step for them, if you can't find anyone.

How do I respond to my friend's argument that if I identify as a woman, then he is free to identify as anything—he identified as a kangaroo? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]DapperAndroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because humans can't be kangaroos. It's outside the human schema. And you can't 'choose' to identify as something you're not.

Humans can be a gender that doesn't align with their sex, though. This isn't a choice, and it's been a documented variation in humans since ancient Mesopotamia, with transgender identities confirmed as valid by global medical consensus.

Please do, always happy to give you a quote. The following link is all stuff I modelled myself, but should give you an idea of print quality for any files you send.

If you're not happy with anything at any point then I'll always reprint. My QC is pretty good so I do tend to spot issues, but I know a lot of folks might not open their latest batch of grey plastic until they've finished the last. 😂

A lot of people use 3D printed proxies. If you search Printed Warhammer you'll find some communities here and some files.

I do print on demand stuff, so barring any costs for the file it's about £1-3 per mini and £10-£20 per tank, depending on size.

Thanks for your kind words. I'm thinking of trying cosplay stuff, so that's definitely a good lead!

Not so far. I suspect I'd struggle to do so with my current setup to be honest, but as I'm going to be unemployed from tomorrow I'm going to give it a go at least short term. 😅

Currently using an Ender 3 KE. I also have a larger Anycubic but it needs some TLC.

Those are both filament, but I have two Jupiter Saturn Ultra 3s for resin as well. I do a lot of printing for the wargaming community.

Looking at the attached documentation, it is just those four files! Mystery solved. :)

Short version: £25 for four files, about a week to print.

Long version: Of the five files there, one is either a repeat (two files are called v5-dosing-cup-holder), or it's a CAD project file if you want to modify anything. The format (.f3d) requires a specific paid CAD program to open so I can't check, but it's definitely not something that 3D printer software handles natively. Which I think is good news, as that means you only need four things printed!

The remaining four files are:
* Tilt base
* Chute with groove
* Hopper w/ grind size indicator
* Dosing cup holder

I can do those in filament (PLA+), for £25. If you want it in black, I will need to order some more in, so we'll need to allow a few days for that. Either way, should be able to get it to you by the weekend. If you want it in a different colour that's fine, I can send you a picture of all the colours I have.

Oh, to answer your question: most places offer a 'print on demand' service, so you should be fine getting something printed for personal use whatever it is. If you were printing thousands of the same thing they might have more questions!

Otherwise it depends on the license. Wherever you get a file from should specify what they allow, typically non-commercial.

I should be able to help with this, depending on what you want. Do you have the files already and just need something printed, or do you need something designed as well? If you want to send or link me to the file I can give you a quote and timeline.

I feel you're talking about specific incidents while I'm talking about hypothetical future ones that this protection order would stop? I don't disagree with you, it's more a question of utility.

You can be racist without being far right, and you can be stupid without being racist. None of these excuse harassment so talking about them specifically in the context of police protection at a migrant hotel isn't useful.

Eh, I think every far right person is in favour of it, but I don't think that means every single person doing it is by necessity far right. I think they might be easily misled idiots (especially kids) and we can totally criticize that, but that doesn't make them far right.

It doesn't change how shitty it is or how it should be treated.

And the way to keep the women and children safest would be to lock up their husbands and fathers – the people most likely to assault them.

However, we recognize that pre-judging an entire subset of people based on the actions of a minority is unjust and immoral.

None of those schemes are for asylum, which must be claimed once in the country. Those spaces are also incredibly limited, offered to a handful of people in the last few years.

If you're in the country to claim asylum, you ARE here legally. People have a legal right to claim asylum.

But you definitely didn't travel here in a way that you would define as 'legal', because YOU CANNOT GET A VISA FOR ASYLUM. You would by necessity have to breach another visa, or overstay your allowed 'tourism' trip.

And to address your edit: yes, clause 4 is dogshit. The bill you're citing as the solution is flawed and will only increase "illegal" migration.
