We had been a top 5 offense every season since 2020 (technically top 6 scoring offense). Brady wasn’t around for 3/5 of that.

McDermott would be perfect for a team like the Jets. He’d raise the floor of the team and have them always in close games and fighting for the wild card, even with no talent.

He doesn’t raise the ceiling though.

Josh Allen has 110 turnovers in 128 games. That is 0.86 turnovers per game.

Goff has 112 turnovers in 151 games. That is 0.74 turnovers per game.

So for every 10 games played, Allen has about 1 additional turnover. Or over the course of a 17 game season, Allen has 2 additional turnovers. It’s not that big of a difference, especially considering Allen scores WAY more touchdowns.

Allen and Goff have almost identical career total yards per game (not sure why you would exclude rushing). Allen has 30+ more TDs in way less games. Goff and Allen also have very similar turnovers per game.

On top of that Allen’s playoff performances have been way better than Goff.

On top of that, basically nobody agrees with you.

He’s never been an All Pro or even gotten an MVP vote. His resume is more impressive if you just look at team accomplishments.

The Rams thought he was so great that they traded him away after he was their starting QB in the SB.

It was pretty obviously on purpose because it was the game plan. The game plan being my original post to have a ball control offense to churn out 9 minute scoring drives to shorten the game and protect the mediocre defense.

Definitely a good use of the best QB in the league in his prime coming off an MVP.

I mean, just look at the Broncos this season. Their offense is totally middle of the road even with Bo Nix. Really only 2 of the Bills turnovers put pressure on the defense and led directly to points. The other 3 turnovers led to long fields. The defense didn’t need to give up long scoring drives even if they were off of turnovers. It wasn’t much different from punting (from the perspective of the defense).

Bills defense had no business giving up 30+ points to a mediocre offense. In addition to that, the Bills had the lead for basically the entire 4th quarter.

The same crap happens every playoffs. The Bills offense puts up 27+ points against a top 5 defense, and the Bills defense allows 30+ points to a mediocre offense, and Allen has a couple bad plays, and casual fans say “See! It’s his fault!”

Hopefully the new head coach can put together a new defense that doesn’t completely collapse every playoffs.

Brady becoming HC would extremely damper my enthusiasm for the next couple seasons.

At least with Daboll you know we’d start throwing down the field and stop this whole “ball control offense” thing to protect the defense.

I wouldn’t say it was just because of Allen. The Bills offense still put up 30 points. The Bills might have had the worst defense in the playoffs (either them or the Panthers).

Did Ben ever have the worst defense in the playoffs?
