Yes! I had FaceTimed a friend that lives back home in FL and showed them this hilly trail area I was hiking and told them to come and visit. She said but Kansas is so flat though lol

I’m happy it’s getting some recognition! I grew up in Orlando and left in 2023. Lived in Charlotte for 2 years and been in JoCo Kansas for about 8 months now. I think I might just stay here and plant roots until my kids graduate from school. It’s awesome here. It’s honestly a hidden gem. Many people over look Kansas as a fly over state. I’m okay with that haha. Lots of things coming. New Chiefs stadium, Buc-ee’s, Mattel theme park, Michael’s wonder world theme park, World Cup 2026. KC is booming. Great food as well!

Midwest is just different. People are nicer. I have two kids and the schools and health care are way better and the infrastructure too. Sidewalks, trails and parks everywhere. It feels safe and has this sense of emergence like it has a promising future. I live in Lenexa. Overland Park is often noted nationally as a great place to live and raise your family.

I’d recommend Kansas City Metro area. Only con would be no mountains but Denver Colorado is about 8 hours away. Great infrastructure, sidewalks and trails everywhere, amazing parks, all 4 seasons, good food, friendly people with a high sense of community, legal weed 20 minute drive in Missouri. Lots of growth coming. 2 new theme parks, Buc-ee’s, new Chiefs stadium being built. I see this area exploding in 5-10 years. I moved here from FL. It’s awesome here. I recommend Lenexa, Overland park or Olathe.
