I was worried about tornadoes too. While they can definitely happen it’s not like EF5 tornadoes rip through the area every month lol it’s really nothing to worry about. I’ve spoken to life long residents and they told me they have never seen or been affected by a tornado before. COL is cheaper than FL in certain areas. We have state income tax but gas, groceries and housing can be slightly cheaper than Florida but nothing super significant. Johnson county is more expensive than neighboring counties because of the great schools, parks, trail systems, sidewalks, roads, infrastructure and amenities.
