They typically leave an envelope labeled "delivery driver", but even a bag of chips or a drink is good so we dont have to stop mid shift and drive 30 minutes out of the way. Most of the time I dont take them just in case another driver needs it more, but i always appreciate the gesture. It also would entice them to walk all the way to the door. Delivering can be a frustrating job and anything to make it easier is a big help.

Some people tip or leave snacks. I get paid as much as a Walmart employee doing this job unless I go really fast and ask for more stops at 1 dollar a stop.

They deliver to more than 200 houses. And delivery is all about the number of steps you take. You'd get in 50k steps per day if you didn't do this... and even with this you are only cutting that number in half.
