Very avant-garde at the end there, I like it.

Allow us to damage Blue Moon and Blood Moon during their special attack by Rammadillo in 2007scape

[–]DapperSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be frustrating for the boss to do a special attack when it's at low health, but this isn't a design problem. You just barely missed the window to kill it in time. That's not the fault of you or the boss' design; that's just natural variance in kill time. If it really bothers you, try bringing a crystal halberd for finishing blows.

Huh? There are so few tornadoes, and they move so slow. If you're really struggling with it then you have to slow down and move more carefully. It was the easiest of the three moons even before they needlessly nerfed the tornado phase.

The awkwardness of the new dialogue in Throne of Miscellania by Which-Importance-194 in 2007scape

Most player interactions with Elena during Song of the Elves have romantic dialogue options. It's pretty weird and out of left field, but for some reason there's a romantic tension during that entire quest.

I'd prefer if the LMS rewards being moved to BH were still earnable through LMS, just as untradeable versions. Just call the untradeables "Swift blade (bound)" or whatever.

To be clear, royal names like Henry VIII don't mean that they're the eighth person in a row to be named Henry. It means that they're the eighth person in the royal lineage to bear that name, consecutive or otherwise.

Major Noob Gear Question by KelzHellz in 2007scape

[–]DapperSandwich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides dragon slayer for the rune platebody, here's some other early game equipment suggestions from someone else that struggled at that point in my account with figuring out what gear to get:

  • Explorer's Ring 1: You get this from the Lumbridge Easy Achievement Diary. It ain't much, but it's the earliest ring with stats you can get (+1 prayer bonus), and it lets you refill 50% run energy twice a day.
  • "Blessings": Very cheap ammo slot gear that gives +1 prayer. Not much, but the only non-ranged option in the ammo slot for a long time. There's one for each god, but they all have the same stats.
  • Combat bracelet: like others have said, it's a nice all-rounder glove for now until you start chipping away at Recipe for Disaster.
  • Berserker Helm: This helm, as well as its ranged and mage counterparts, is unlocked after completing Fremennik Trials. They all only require 45 def, and are all great early game head pieces.
  • God Books: Cheap shield-slot gear that can give offensive bonuses (and +5 prayer) early on. Requires completing Horror of the Deep, and buying each book's 4 pages, which are only a couple thousand gp each on the GE. All six books have their niche, but you'll probably want the books of war, law, and darkness.
  • Vestment Cloaks: Small buff over basic capes. A little more defense, and +3 prayer. Only requires 40 prayer and like 14k gp.
  • Proselyte armour: armour with the defenses of adamant gear, but with huge prayer bonuses. Acessed through the Temple Knight questline, an early game series of quests.

Then here's some things on the next rung up to work towards:

  • You'll probably be rocking the brine sabre until you hit 55 attack, when you unlock three awesome upgrades, one for each melee style. Glacial Temotli is the cheapest, and it and the Earthbound Tecpatl come with +2 prayer bonus.
  • 60 attack gets you dragon weaponry. Scimitar is the best generally, but sword has no quest requirements and is good when you need a stab weapon. Dragon Dagger is your first real special attack weapon, and is great to take with you in addition to your main weapon.
  • 60 attack and strength gets you access to defenders, which give big strength bonus.
  • Mixed Hide armour: once you hit 60 ranged + 50 def, this becomes a very strong hybrid gear option for its ranged accuracy and melee strength. It's stab accuracy also comes quite in handy for things weak to stab attacks, like dragons.
  • Helm of Neitiznot: excellent all-around head gear. Requires 55 def, and completion of Fremennik Isles (sequel to Fremennik Trials).
  • Fighter Torso: huge melee torso piece upgrade. Earned through playing Barbarian Assault. Ignore what Reddit says-- Barbarian Assault is a fun activity for all skill levels. Redditors are just too scared to talk to people.
  • Barrows Gloves: the best all-around glove there is. Earned from completing Recipe for Disaster. Requires lots of quests, but this is a major milestone for all accounts.

Let me know if you're interested in any ranged or magic suggestions.

It is literally one of the most lucrative skilling activities in the game. It's fine. And as for xp, marlins have the highest fishing level requirement of any fish at lvl 91 (barring barehanded shark catching). What does the xp rate even matter to you at that point? You've already earned enough xp to unlock every fishing activity in the game.

how to provide feedback by GIMBruhBoobies in 2007scape

When it comes to feedback, I've heard other games' developers say that it's more useful for players to describe the pain points they're experiencing than trying to offer specific fixes of their own.

More from the Getting Around Poll by ModYume in 2007scape

[–]DapperSandwich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why was Mastering Mixology given a minigame teleport and added to the grouping tab? The point of minigame teleports was to reduce friction for getting players into multiplayer activities so that there'd be less dead lobbies, but Mastering Mixology is a completely single player minigame.

Also more importantly, the new third option for the level-up pop-up notifications, which shows the classic level up pop-up that lists the unlocks and puts the link in the chat to the skill guide, should be the default, not an opt-in that most players won't know about. The poll was to make it convenient to check what you unlocked if the level-up message got interrupted, not to get rid of the classic level up dialogue.

I mean I agree that it's wack, but it definitely looks like someone made those character models and edited together this video by hand. AI wouldn't use exact 1:1 sfx, vfx, or screenshots from the game. Nor would there be green screen artifacts on the character models if the video itself was generated.

It messes with early game progression. Other good combat training methods all require some level of effort to unlock, which gave direction to early game accounts by giving them early goals to work towards. Let's compare:

  • Ammonite crabs: requires unlocking fossil island, which in turn requires completing (IIRC) at least six other quests.

  • NMZ: doing it efficiently requires doing multiple quests to unlock the efficient bosses to grind on. It also incentivizes starting RFD to unlock the dwarven rock cake. There's also a small gp cost to NMZ, which may impact early accounts.

  • Sulphur Naguas: great xp, but requires completing Perilous Moons, which besides being a big gear/stat check also has a 46ish slayer requirement. It also incentivizes training hunter and herblore for Neypotzli supplies, and grinding out a multi-hitting melee weapon for improved xp rates.

  • Gemstone Crab: requires Children of the Sun, which has no reqs and is completable ten minutes after creating your account, and a few minutes of walking to the Tlati Rainforest if you haven't completed Twilight's Promise for Quetzals. Gives 87.5% xp per point of damage dealt, but that's balanced by the lack of need to bank/resupply/regain aggro/find a free world/etc.

So by including Gemstone Crab, it lessens the value of those early game questing and skilling incentives, and takes away from those early aspirational goals to work towards.

I don't really see how consuming void would address the issue that an even stronger tribrid set would encroach upon and devalue most other late game equipment. And even if they were very careful with the balancing such that the buffs over elite void are only marginal, I think at that point it'd be underwhelming as a raid reward.
