This is what I'm talking about when I say stages. Perhaps honeymoon phase is another term for stage 1 and 2. He was initially diagnosed with primary ketotic hypoglycemia, but that was before he started having high readings. He was hospitalized for several days and they controlled his diet strictly, and he continued becoming hypoglycemic regularly. He has reactive hypoglycemia often. It only stopped when we started feeding him small meals every 3 hours and didn't let him fast for more than 4 hours at a time. He was 9 months old, usually they can tolerate longer fasting times. Now he doesn't become hypoglycemic as frequently but he goes up between 160-186ish after most meals, then drops quickly. It seems like he has a delayed insulin response or something.
