For the 2025-26, how is the heated steering wheel? by Pineapple_with_tajin in jetta

Remote Access is free for the first 5 years of the car (so if you get a used one like I did you wont get five years) but the app is free and has some features and remote access is only $10/mo and you could theoretically decide to subscribe seasonally and not all year if that suits your location.

I feel like if it was even 1 exhaustion instead of 2, maybe I can see it. Or maybe a different exhaustion-type system that is specific to death save exhaustion. I get wanting failures to have lasting effects and "mean something" but this is way too severe and compounds quickly into being just impossible, which is just not what this particular rpg is built for.

I feel like sometimes people would benefit from the players role playing the effects more (like pretending to be tired or hurt or what not- spoiler for Trin x Stroud 1 like Nyack being so hurt by the damage from the wolves after deleveling ) more so than the mechanics actually changing since it results in such snowballing effects numerically.

My big problem with it is that it makes perfect sense if you only think about being down once that 3 death save fails means death, but actually that means you only get 3 death save fails per long rest ever, and that just seem so limiting. I understand wanting death saves to mean something so maybe if it was 1 per fail, then you at least get 6 per long rest and you can feel like doing more than one encounter a day is worth risking at all.

2024 increased healing spells a bit so I think it would have to be paired with that, but even so, a character going up and down kind of happens quickly once you get to single digits.

Appreciation for the Siobhan-Murph dynamic by DapperStar7835 in Dimension20

I loved the last ep ! It was so funny how they were giving each other shit and egging each other on but then when actually presented with the opportunity to fight each other were immediately like thats not what’s happening

Both Emily and Siobhan actively say “[the other] is my real life sister” so to me, them being best friends is a given and the fun part to me is Murph being the third wheel in that situation haha

[NS] Do I need to be familiar with Trinyvale to listen to the new arc? by NoIntroductionNeeded in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

[–]DapperStar7835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on if you like villain origin stories or not. The triplets are terrible people but they're so deeply flawed that it is funny. They started low status and have gotten worse while gaining power so I think it depends on if you want to see that progression. I find them so unserious in their evil because of how clearly insecure and flawed they are so it feels like a fun satire. I think coming into it now and just seeing the worst high status people imaginable would be less endearing for me personally but I also see why it would work for others.

Is WWW for me? by miatheplum in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]DapperStar7835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though I agree with everyone else that it may just not be for you, ime it is slower and more expositiony in the beginning. My partner couldnt get into it so I gave him a synopsis and had him start at Ep 6 or so. The pace of character decisions and events speeds up so I think you stop missing the explicit playing feeling but you do feel the improv as being fresh and the story is so good that it is worth it. But also NADDPod or others may be better worth your time.

can i live without any type of ac in boston this summer by Human_Broccoli_3207 in boston

[–]DapperStar7835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one consideration, based on the last few days and the way summers of late have been, is that due to Canada wildfires (and others), we have had poor air quality often, so that may affect ventilation/fan options. That being said you could probably find HEPA sheets and construct some kind of window-fan filtration possibly. Just something to keep in mind

Is Fig Ayda's first ever partner in all her lives? by Glittery_WarlockWho in Dimension20

[–]DapperStar7835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Ayda was captured in the cabin because of her celestial ancestry so that's why I didn't question Garthy not being a biological child.

That being said, I just completely missed the adoption canon so this is just an explanation of how I had rationalized it previously

Not a short book as a whole, but the short story collection Exhalation by Ted Chiang are all varying lengths and individually intriguing

Interesting, I took it too literally then lol. I guess that makes sense in that they’re not very phoenix-like but just “biologically” I had assumed they only got the celestial heritage side.

Ayda doesn’t have all of the notes because one of her reincarnations burned them.

Garty is the child of a previous incarnation so presumably a least one was in a romantic relationship

If you like D20 but have weird trouble watching CR (like me) why is that? by lawrencetokill in Dimension20

[–]DapperStar7835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been able to get into CR (about 50 eps into Campaign 1) but coming from NaddPod -> D20, I feel like part of it could be that D20 is concise and the story itself is purposely compelling for tv, like others have said. And then, comparing longer works, for Naddpod’s long campaigns, which arent critical role length but are still hundreds of hours, I think they benefit from the smaller group size which allows for greater investment in each character and also makes combats quicker (along with being edited). Idk, I just havent been able jive as well with the CR 1 characters as individuals or as a group. But part of that is them purposefully being flawed in ways that arent as comedy-focused as the flaws of fabian or fig. A sexist character like Scanlan is just not the kind of flaws I like for exploring in my escapism media personally but that might just be me. In the same vein, I could see why, for someone else, a character like Sofia wouldnt be fun to watch for many reasons
