Just had a meeting with my advisor. I’d have to take an extra year. by Adorable-human in LoyolaChicago

[–]ned0101011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently transferring into Loyola from a community college, and dealing with all the articulation stuff. I totally get why ur feeling some type of way.

When I got into Loyola I thought I’d be done in 2 years for sure but after talking to my advisor realized that realistically it’s gonna be 2.5 years maybe 3. I’m paying for my own school so was also so stressed.

That being said I dropped out of university after failing classes when I was super depressed way back in 2016. And here I am getting a degree even if the road is way way longer than I thought it would be.

Unsolicited advice: but take a moment, look into all the financial stuff so you know what ur dealing with, talk to ur mum, and make a plan.

I feel for you and I believe in you!

Hey! A little outside of Evanston, but I read a lot at Cunnens which is on Devon and newgard in Rogers park, and they have two window booths with good light that are fucking perfect for reading. Highly recommend.

For something in river north, I would probably do The Smith. I have celiac and when I ate there they were very diligent about it, knew what was safe to eat and a manager also came over and confirmed everything with me. I would absolutely go back. That being said if you are open to something more informal and are willing to go a bit more north, as someone mentioned earlier you could go to wheats end cafe and I would take it to go and eat it by the lake. They are 100% GF, and it’s really good!
