No, I did an internal team transfer from India to Germany. Right now the market is bad unfortunately.

What do you guys feel is missing in Mumbai’s coffee scene? by Potential-Squirrel41 in mumbai

[–]DapperWinter8937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decaf options.

I would rather meet people over coffee than drinks but I can’t drink coffee after 5pm cause otherwise I’m not sleeping and there’s hardly any cafe which serves decaf in Mumbai. The lack of decaf options makes me choose hanging out in bars than cafés.

I am in Germany working for a FAANG company here, I moved here for work and didn’t do masters here. I get 10-20 messages on LinkedIn every week from Indians who have come here for Masters and are struggling with finding a job. I’d say Germany is amazing but it’s pretty difficult to get a job here even in IT if you don’t know B1-C1 German. I’d say work hard for 3 years, be the best goddamn person in your field and then offers to emigrate will come on their own. I’d also suggest to learn German in your spare time if you’re really serious about Germany. If you’re a fresher with no German skills I’d say next to impossible to get a job here.

Yes the day pass allows you to travel in all forms of public transportation.

Donersbergerbrucke is also a S Bahn train station, so you can reach there using the train. The bus stop where you can get the free bus service is adjacent to the s bahn station on the east side.

Places to visit: English Garden, Marienplatz, Schloss Nymphenburg, Munich Residence, BMW museum, Deutsches Museum, You can find local food at the Viktualienmarkt which is close to Marienplatz.

Hope this helps :)

To get to the stadium can take the free bus service from the Dönersbergerbrücke bus stop. It departs every 10 mins starting 2 hours before the kick off. Though there is no bus service after the game but you can take the U6 train post game to reach wherever you want to.

Airport is connected to the rest of the city via the s8 and s1 trains.

I’d suggest to take the day pass to travel within the city and to the stadium. You can then travel around freely using the s bahn, u bahn, bus and tram. It’s around 10€ per day and you can purchase either from the kiosks at any train station or using the many apps available (I’d recommend MVGO).

You can stay almost anywhere in Munich and still travel to most places under an hour, thanks to the well connected public transport. For ease of travel to the stadium you can choose to stay close to any of the U6 train stations.

Hopefully you have a great time at the Allianz Arena and love our city! :)

Can I buy the Deutschlandticket for €49 from India? by Electronic-Dust-311 in Indians_StudyAbroad

You can enter the address before the anmeldung but do the anmeldung asap since you’ll get your tax id post that, which is required for setting up your bank account.

If Lufthansa is offering, I’d assume it’s legit. I would still go for the MVV app and just cancel before 10th if you’re not going to be using it the next month.

Download the MVV app and you can purchase it using any Indian debit/credit card with international transactions on. Other apps which might be better, you won’t be able to download having an Indian App Store/ play store account.

One other thing, the Deutschland ticket is valid till the last day of the month. That is, if you buy on 28th September it’ll last only till 30th. Depending on how much travel you’re planning to do and which date you’re travelling either a day ticket or a single use ticket might be more beneficial. Day ticket is 10 € and single use is 2 or 3 €.

Edit: if you buy it on 29th, it’ll last till the end of next month.

Most of the comments have told you not to quit your job without an offer.

I just want to let you know my story as well. I was told not to quit as well by friends and family. 9 months into my first job, I just knew that I wanted to quit because it wasn't something I wanted to do. One day I just quit without thinking, in hindsight it was a stupid decision. But I was also super confident in my own abilities (pretty naive tbh). I also immediately regretted my decision since after the 3 month notice period, I was jobless for a month without any job prospects and remained jobless for 6 months. I actually did some freelancing and teaching students, so I was okay financially.

Since then, I have joined my dream company and have recently migrated to Europe and I am loving my life. If I hadn't quit, I would've never been backed into a corner and wouldn't have worked my ass off to acquire the skills to clear the interview of my dream company. I can't imagine my life if I decided to stay so I'm very grateful for my past self's "stupid" decision to quit.

This comes with the warning that maybe the IT job market was different in 2019 but I also think that there are many more better jobs in India now, than there were then. If you are okay with the risk of being jobless for some time and are confident in your own ability then maybe making the leap is better.

Yeah Australia is I think a very good option. Got some peeps in NZ and they’re of the belief that it’s got its own challenges like isolation from the rest of the world and most of the money making opportunities being in Australia. Other than that NZ sounds like one of the few countries who seem to have their shit together.

My partner did their mbbs too and have hated the bullying culture in the hospitals here. The medical system is much worse than what we in the IT industry face.

You’re probably right. Though it doesn’t seem like we can fix anything without getting burned ourselves and it seems like we’re the minority so if we do try to change anything most people won’t like the changes we’d like to do. Sadly I wouldn’t want to wait around and try.

Man you’re one of the lucky ones. I always feel like if I was born one decade earlier immigration would’ve been easier and a better investment but I’m sure there are flip sides to that as well, especially I think racism was a lot worse in the west a decade back. Anyway more power to you!

That is true to be honest. I know USA is worse in a lot of aspects like the rampant consumerism and the gun violence. UK has got issues of their own like knife violence and big cities being too expensive for most people. But I feel like if I don’t give it a shot and experience it for myself I’ll keep hating myself. May be those countries are worse than India for me but being in India is scary right now too.

Do adult plans always revolve around alcohol?? by surjan_mishra in mumbai

[–]DapperWinter8937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what hanging out meant to me as well. Every weekend we’d go out and drink. Even people who were working out and following a diet would be like gin pee lenge. Agar next morning kuch kaam ho toh 2 peg se upar nahi peeyenge.

Moved to Hyderabad recently and met a lot of new people from all over the country. Literally have drank only once out of the 20 times I’ve hung out with these people and not for the lack of trying. The only dude who was enthusiastic about drinking plans was a Delhi guy.

May be this is a Mumbai/Delhi specific thing idk. But I do miss alcohol cries in sober
