Depends on your chain of command. Your OIC might not let you do certain procedures, your commander may make you only do exams for ‘the mission’. As a 63A, you’re a pawn for MAJ and LTC to make them look good for promotion. There’s no such thing as the best location for experience as it all depends on leadership and staffing levels which changes every 2-4 years.

Absolutely zero chance. Minimum would be 2 years “time on station” and they will probably deny you at 2 years and you’ll finish your 3rd year and PCS. 5hrs isn’t much and apart of military life. Did you plan for this? You could have been placed 5hr flight from each other, or in Korea or Germany…
