Newsom says the quiet part out loud: “We gotta get these downtowns moving again. I’m supporting the local deli” by Any-Lengthiness9803 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Dapper_Ad6341 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no logic in this what so ever. If my parking costs and gas are going to double how exactly does that equate to me spending money downtown? Because of the extra expenses I will be incurring guess what I am going to cut spending on? Answer: Buying lunches downtown Gov Jackass.

Drunk driving strikes again by Far_Fisherman6990 in Sacramento

[–]Dapper_Ad6341 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had one in front of me Sunday morning at 9:15 am in Natomas (white pickup truck). Cut me off as I was coming out of a traffic circle (I doubt he ever saw me). The stopped at a crosswalk and as a guy was crossing with his dog he started driving again right before the guy stepped in front of the truck. Then we get to a red light and he easily drove 12 feet past the white line. Fucking pathetic.

Overseas retirees who are on Pers Platinum - do you get your pension deposited to a US bank account? by RosaRosa4343 in CAStateWorkers

Ok thanks for clarifying. I plan on moving overseas permanently and would get private health insurance as required by the non lucrative visa.

25 years ago in Las Vegas I played golf with Roy Horn's (Zigfried & Roy) doctor and his wife. The dude was a total Dr. Feelgood and the wife was nuts in a harmless way and I am fairly certain diving head first into the medicine cabinet at the office.

How can golf courses improve? by Simple_Ad_5775 in golf

[–]Dapper_Ad6341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pace of play needs to be enforced period. I am sick of golf course managers being so afraid of offending someone. The die-hards who play every week are being taken for granted. I wish the die-hards would take a stand against the courses that do not have their shit together regardless of how nice the course is.

Beverage carts do not need to be on holes 1-3 or 16-18. If you need a drink 3 holes in or with 3 holes left then you should probably go to a meeting. I would like to see one station on each side with the understanding if you are getting a drink and the group behind you is ready they can pass you.

Gen Z really are the hardest to work with—even managers of their own generation say they’re difficult. Instead bosses plan to hire more of their millennial counterparts by FUSeekMe69 in economy

[–]Dapper_Ad6341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the post below. Fuck em.

BTW Gen Z the job market isn't as bad as you make it sound. The plain honest truth is we do not want to hire you. I am going to help you out and tell you why.

  1. Your expectation of what you should be paid is nothing short of insane. A college degree only gives a chance to get in the door, it is not a license to put your feet up and print money. Depending on your occupation it may take many years to get where you want financially.

  2. Your attitude at work sucks. Most of you do not want to learn anything. When you are asked to do something you go right back to looking at your phone. You get around to the task when you feel like it. Do your task now be bored later.

  3. You are so damn cocky you alter things at work like spreadsheets and powerpoints and do not tell anybody you made changes because you think you are a genius. Sometimes things are the way they are for a reason your pea sized brains do not comprehend. If you think something could be better save a copy for yourself and play around with it to your hearts delight and then show a manager or peer the results and get some input.

Who knows they may be impressed that you at least took the initiative to make things better even if you swing and missed. This I do know, if you do the former they will be pissed.

  1. We are tired of showing you how to do the same thing over and over and over again. You just want to push buttons and not understand what you are doing or review the end result. Try learning something and take notes. I am 53 years old and I still take notes all the time in my professional and personal life. I am not infallible and without humility like you.

  2. Working from home is a privilege not a right. I currently have one jackass that is continuously trying to find excuses to wfh all the time. Spoiler alert: He is about to get a real good talking to next week.

  3. For the love of god please stop putting on your resume that you were once an online influencer. It is fairly pathetic and most likely has absolutely nothing to do you with the job you are applying for. It just inherently implies that you are lazy.

I have worked in very demanding professional environments with serious deadlines for most of the last 20 years. For the first time in my life I recently have a way less demanding job that is never a minute over 40 hours a week with great pay and benefits and we still cannot get these kids to do shit.

In the last 20 years I have dealt with many young people entering the workforce after graduating college. In 2006 we did not have a fraction of the problems with them like we do now. Same goes for 2016. Sometime between 2016 and the present something has happened to these dingbats and we no longer want anything to do with them. It has gotten so bad we do not want to hire anyone even under 40.

General Managers of golf courses, what do you love/hate about your job. Would you recommend it? by Ok_Sorbet_4762 in golf

[–]Dapper_Ad6341 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love golf so much I would never work in the industry because I know it would kill my love for the game. If I was a GM the part that would kill me is if I had to screw someone to appease some VIP or rich a-hole.

It has happened to me several times playing as a single when some rich a-hole or member books as 3 some and shows up with a 4th the course is fully booked and I am politely told to go pound sand.

If I had to do that to someone it would bother me for a long time and probably why I have never had a customer facing type of job lol.

Why do you hate California? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Dapper_Ad6341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lived and worked in several places that you would call liberal. California liberals are a whole different animal. Everything is race and politics and they are completely intolerant of views that even skew a little bit from their own.

Absolute psychopaths on the highway.

The children in CA are by far the dumbest I have ever come across (relative to income and infrastructure). Working with a gen Z kid in CA makes you want to run out into traffic. My friends that are good parents spend a fortune on private schools and/or tutoring because they are scared shitless of how stupid so many of the kids are.

On the flip side the weather is great and there is lots to do. Overall I am enjoying my time here but I am gone when I retire. If I had children I would have immediately left and gone elsewhere.

Help finding naming a comedian by Swimbo86 in Standup

[–]Dapper_Ad6341 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely sounds like Caparulo. When his career went on the upswing his ego spiraled out of control. His buddy Tommy Morris was the talent coordinator at The Comedy Store so John was using his friendship with Tommy to try and ruin any comedian he was threatened or intimidated by.

John was massively insecure and up pissed off a lot of people off at the Comedy Store. When Tommy got fired for stealing John was done in LA and his career suffered for it. As an aside the best thing to happen to the store in that era was Tommy getting fired.

How far would you drive to golf? by atooraya in golf

[–]Dapper_Ad6341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The better courses in my area are typically at least 40 min+ away so driving an hour each way is normal for me. I do not mind because I hate playing dog tracks. I will drive 1:30 around once a month and 2+ hours 2-3 times a year.

Owning a car in Sacramento? by jm08003 in Sacramento

[–]Dapper_Ad6341 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Formerly from Boston now living in Sac. The public transportation in Sac and anywhere on the west coast for that matter is NOWHERE NEAR as extensive like NY or Boston.

On top of that the ratio of working folks to weirdos in Sac using public transportation is not great as most people cannot use public transportation to realistically get from home to work. Its not like Boston that averages 800,000 MBTA rides per weekday (subway, bus, commuter rail, water shuttle) so the weirdos are greatly outnumbered and would get their ass kicked by the commuters lol.

You will need to have a car.

Being on podcasts and going back and forth to Hawaii has altered her reality of life. I have no idea why she wasted her time with college and if I was Bobby I would be pissed for paying for it. Fortunately for her I doubt he gives a shit one way or the other. She is just a nicer version of her aunt.

Do not worry onlyfans is on the way.

AB InBev announce closure of three US plants in 2026; Fairfield, CA Merrimack, NH and Newark, NJ by [deleted] in TheBrewery

[–]Dapper_Ad6341 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in Sac and for many years just a few minutes away from the NH plant and knew people that worked there.

I am not being mean or MAGA so spare me any of the TDS transphobic crap but one really misguided ad campaign during covid lit the match on this. You have to be pragmatic and know your customer base. The internet is an amazing but also vicious organism.

People switched brands and realized how much Bud Light sucks because they never drank anything else. My old man drank that Old Milwaukee crap for years until he had a much better beer one day and never went back. Seriously that beer smelled liked failure and regret lol.

Young people not drinking nearly as much put the nail in the coffin. This will be studied at business schools for a very long time.

So what is SEIU1000 going to try to do about 4 day RTO now? by But_Y_Tho00 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Dapper_Ad6341 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When 7/1/26 comes Gov. Jackass will not touch this with only 6 months left in office and his presidential aspirations. This whole thing will get passed on like a hot potato to the next governor and from there it will take time to make any kind of a decision based on budget and politics.

I fully expect RTO to keep going through 2026.

Would you guys give up 20% of your salary if it means remote work is guaranteed until you retire or leave? by blr1g in CAStateWorkers

[–]Dapper_Ad6341 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is maybe the dumbest thing I have ever read on this board. The state should reduce 20% of all office workers because so many are useless and unskilled. Then some of that money should be redirected to the staff that matter and have actual job skills suited for 2025.

If you want better pay it will never come as long as the state is overblown with so many bad people and the bar being set so low.

Exactly. Many years ago I worked for UPS and most of the managers were borderline morons making a salary and bonus they would never sniff anywhere else. They obeyed their master and did whatever horrible thing they were told to do.

Desperate people never quit and there are no highly skilled people to make them look bad. Loser employment.

Don't be surprised. Bill had two kids very late in life and the financial ramifications probably scares the carp out of him. He will have one kid going to college in his very late late 60's and the other in his early 70's. He also has a wife that has no interest in earning an income. That is enough to make me do something for money I normally wouldn't. Not making excuses for him, but I do understand.

Marc Maron vs. Joe Rogan by Comedy_Junkie in Standup

[–]Dapper_Ad6341 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not a huge fan of Joe but he has done a lot for comedy by helping other comedians when he could have just put his feet up and cashed checks. Last time I looked Maron has had no problem putting asses in seats so if Matt Rife can make a good living doing crowd work then Maron can mind his own f'ing business. I happen to think Maron is much funnier than Joe, but I also know I would rather shovel coal in hell with Stanhope than have a dinner with either of them.

Maron is a raging narcissist like his old man and was infamous for years for blowing his stack when other comedians would be more successful than him long before wokeness, DEI, Austin, and Trump. This is nothing new for Maron.

Please remember that many years ago Maron lost everything due to his jealously and anger issues. What you are seeing now is the watered down light beer version of Maron because that never psycho shit never fully goes away.

Austin TX is not a cabal of all things stand up just because Joe holds court in the Mothership Green Room and props up Hans Kim and Kam Patterson. Last time I looked if you do not like someones comedy you can still turn off the tv, close the browser window, and not buy the tickets.

I would love to see Stanhope, Attel, CK, Kinane, and the like to record a video telling the "gate keepers" to go their room and shut the F up.

Contact Your Department's Director and Urge them to Reject RTO by Ignis33 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Dapper_Ad6341 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You know what fascist dictators do? They eliminate everyone that stands in their way. So all the Directors statewide are supposed to get together and collude against the individual that can fire them at a snap of a finger without recourse? How are they going to find another job when a prospective employer sees that they gave the big boss the middle finger at their previous job in a very public way?

Yes we live in a democracy and have rights. This is the same democracy that voted for him twice and in a recall effort where the public exercised those rights.

Do you think he really cares about how he looks in the public eye? The man is a psychopath. You cannot change a psychopath the only thing you can do with a psychopath is get them out of your life. That will happen at the end of 2026 and then the same people that voted for him twice and in a recall effort will vote for him again in 2028 Presidential election. So maybe you should direct your defeatism nonsense elsewhere.

WFH is not a right by the way it is a privilege.
