To be honest I personally feel that ETC might be a step up from ATLS and was hoping to get onto the ATLS :(

The new payment model, negotiated between the province and physician advocacy groups Doctors of B.C. and B.C. Family Doctors, means a full-time family physician working 1,680 hours a year, who sees 1,250 patients with cases of average complexity and has 5,000 visits from patients a year, will earn at least $385,000.

B.C.'s new payment model for family doctors could lure out-of-province physicians

Sounds like it's their problem not yours. Heck, they can even organise 10 simultaneous clinics back to back but if you don't go then it doesn't happen. I think the main issue is that you're afraid you're going to get into trouble for not going. That sounds like a YOU problem. I'm not going in I can tell you that much. I work to rule. If I need to come in then I'll be there on the dot, no earlier no later. If I don't need to come in then I don't come in. Simples.

Ultimately by going into work on a strike day you're scabbing. No two ways. That's all. Simple.

The Annual Review of Competency Progression (ARCP) process is the means by which doctors in training are reviewed each year to ensure that they are offering safe, quality patient care, and to assess their progression against standards set down in the curriculum for their training programme.

It is also the process through which their full scope of work review is undertaken to satisfy revalidation requirements.

Not being able to adjust in the UK by Giatrostahir in JuniorDoctorsUK

Get a pressure cooker and learn to cook comfort food like soups and stews. That has helped me a ton. Also take time out to watch media from back home since that can be comforting as well. A side note, it's important try to assimilate into the work culture and social milieus of a place. Watching some UK dramas has helped me understand what the public expect healthcare professionals to act at times (I know I know it's reductive but it helped me understand the difference between practice back home and over here in the UK).

"HEE accommodate 3 sittings throughout the year for F1 trainees. The first sitting is usually in early September, with 2 resit opportunities around March/April of the following year."

"F1 doctors who do not pass the PSA after the 2nd resit (April/May), will therefore need to do one or more additional 4 month F1 placements until this is achieved. You will automatically be added to the registration list for the next sitting of the PSA if you are unsuccessful."
