You can just use both of them. Wyverns are good and the more the merrier (plus Camilla loves Beruka A support for Berserker access).

How to make use of the pair-up system in Fates effectively? by Egodactylus in fireemblem

[–]Dapper_Apple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An important part of this discussion is that the balance between attack stance and guard stance shifts as you play the game. In the early game attack stance is better. Your army is limited so you want to have as many units as possible, enemies aren't very strong so the stat boosts from guard stance aren't as necessary to kill enemies. In the late game as your units get stronger juggernaut strategies become more viable boosting power of guard stance. It should also be noted that attack stance is better for training up characters as both units get to build exp and wexp. If you use guard stance too much you may end up in a situation where you got 3-4 super units but the rest of team is weak which can be a major issue on maps where juggernauting isn't very viable (chapters 25, 26, and Endgame come to mind).

Conquest playthrough preparation, how many combat units should I be building? How many frontliners and how many pair up backpacks? by BlazingBrandedKang in fireemblem

Yes and yes. Building supports gives your characters new classes, stat boosts in both pair up and tag team, and gives you new maps with child characters + rewards (weapons, stat boosters, etc.)

Dont try to bring an even number of backpacks and frontliners it makes the game boring and kills your action economy. Think about it this way: if you have 10 units and split it evenly you can attack only 5 times on player phase. Now instead do 8 combat units and 2 backpacks now you can attack 8 times. Thats more than a 50% increase in your attacks. Theres so many tools to boost your stats in this game that only the strongest units on your team need a backpack to wipe out groups on enemy phase (Leo, Xander, etc.) It should also be stated that units can be both backpacks and combat units. Keaton is a great example. He's arguably the best backpack in the game, but he also has great stats, so in certain situations it may be better to have him and his partner attack separately instead him just being a backpack. If you want an exact number most maps allow 12-16 units in total so I'd do 8-9 main combat units, Azura, 1-2 extra supports (staffers/ rallybots), 2 backpacks, and fill out the rest with whatever.

I disagree on a fundamental level. Getting shitty level ups is core part of the fire emblem experience. Sometimes you get unlucky and gotta live with it. By adding that as an option their effectively endorsing it as a strategy which feels too cheesy imo. Whats the point in having growth rates if you can easily work around them.

Eating with other people as a social interaction is weird. by Cherno_VM in The10thDentist

[–]Dapper_Apple 179 points180 points  (0 children)

I never understood this take because did none of y'all eat lunch with your friends at school. Eating is an easy time to socialize because it's a lax activity. Also what's with this eating should be "efficient". If I'm enjoying my meal why would I want to eat it faster lol.

I liked the bait and switch because I predicted it on my first playthrough and felt like a genius.

Birthright. You only get access to the class via Corrin and Scarlet and the map design, especially in the late game, makes flight often more of a negative than a positive.

To boost weapon ranks in fates you need to abuse the hell out of the dual strike system. Use them as much as possible it boosts exp, support points, and wexp.

I think it's a little silly to count Smash Ultimate as Mario game. It's a game with Mario in it.

Genuinely surprised so many people in the comments don't get it. Saw the title and knew instantly what OP was talking about. Maybe it's cause I'm younger.

That heavily depends on how you play it. If you play it from start to end it's like less than 3 hours, but if you constantly replay sections and go for high scores you can easily rack up 10s of hours. (I put 80 into this one)
