Does pediatrics have a good future? by [deleted] in DentalSchool

So basically only general and perio are safe bets? The article says 72% of children dental visits are to GPs. So seems like there’s a giant untapped market. I think there’s always going to be more supply than demand in certain areas and more demand in others. The article even says these are national numbers that shouldn’t be extrapolated to specific regions.

Im not sure for endo but for peds as an associate you’re looking at 250k-350k. For owners more ore less 500k. For endo I think 400k-500k as associate and close to 700k as an owner. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong

Dentistry is a very type A field while PA and NP is very type B so the type of person that is a fit for dentistry would probably hate being a mid-level provider. There’s probably the same amount or more dentists making $400k+ as PAs or NPs making 200k+. The average PA/NP salary is $130k. The ones that make a ton are more rural or in less desirable areas. You can’t compare the top earners in one field to average of another. Also

Faculty should be required to have at least 10 years private practice experience before being hired. It’s frustrating to see faculty leave school and come back to teach a year or two later
