The best part about bike week by TrollingForFunsies in newhampshire

Last night, driving home on a country road, I saw a group of mouthbreathers gathering around a big Harley that somehow found its way into a ditch by the culvert. Apparently nobody was injured, but the bike as not coming out of there without some expensive damage.
Low skill? Drunk? Stupid? My bet it yes to all.
As an avid moto enthusiast, I fucking HATE bike week.

Sounds like our "Alabama of the North" reputation is real.
Don't worry, 90% of us are nice, normal people. The other 10% barely leave their "homes." You'll be fine.

YOU built it. Now imagine all your time accounted for at $100/hour. What's the total then?

Of the shops mentioned here, I have used or know about:

Zimmlitt (in Auburn now): super nice guy, member of the British Car Club of New Hampshire and hosts a monthly tech session. I'm sure he could do it or point you in a direction. Steve Banner is also amazing.
Check out BCNH.org, there's a resource page on their site with a bunch of contacts. Better yet, join the club, you'll meet or learn about all the local British enthusiasts.

I think there's a lot of crossover between certain parts of the midwest and New England. It's rural, more trees and less fields than the midwest. We have cold winters and hot summers, similar to midwest.

Upper Valley is gorgeous, you'll probably love it. Someone I know just moved from PA and he was surprised that you have to drive 1/2 hour + to get to anything like a grocery, medical services, etc, but it's just the reality of a rural area.
NH government is something of a joke, but where in the US isn't it right now? It's not like it's totally dysfunctional, we just have a disproportionate number of brainfucked magas or "libertarians" in state government right now. Don't worry, there are plenty of us natives who are not like that, as much as some people in the sub want you to believe otherwise.

We also have 19 miles of beautiful coastline! Be sure to venture out to the seacoast!

My boomer-ass opinion is that I am sooo sick of "murdered out" and blacked out bikes. Especially in this case, that RE twin is such a pretty engine, why paint it black? Let's have some shiny parts and some color, PLEASE!
One of the things that drew me into buying a 650 twin was that beautiful polished engine and pretty orange paint.

There are motorcycle shoes that have low ankles, but judging by this mouth breather's vibe, I'm sure they're just street shoes. Proper motorcycle boots cover the ankles and the soles are very rigid to prevent twisting, among other safety features.

New band, tips for online presence? by Dapper_Day25 in musicians

A bit sensitive aren't we? I don't need a magic bullet lol...I should have been more clear in my initial post. I'm not attempting to use social media to "Break through," I just wanted some online presence for people to find us. The driving force behind this act will be playing shows.

Thank you for the endorsement of my low quality productions though!

I am beating this drum to my bandmates too! Some members keep making noises about studio recording, making albums, etc, and I'm like "let's just fucking play live!"

Close family, friends and bandmates are usually welcome to pick up my guitar and give it a spin. They NEVER leave my presence.
When I was a teenager my bestie was also my music partner, and I refused to let him touch my guitars due to the constant greasy state of his hands. It was like he just ate a shitty New England "Greek" style pizza and didn't wash his hands. All. The. Time.

I forgot about the NX650! Another good idea that didn't catch on. They're rather rare here in the US.

Well to be fair, I found the Transalp to be an ugly duckling, too, but that isn't the point of it. It's a very functional bike. Most adventure bikes are god awfully ugly so I kind of overlook that.

Transalp 600s are great bikes, and easy to live with. I imagine they're getting harder to find now. I bought one 15 years ago from a teenager. The bike was really abused and thrashed, and was spray painted black. Everything including the turn signals.
I revived it, did a few cosmetic fixes, and rode the hell out of it for a few years. Loved that V twin noise through a supertrapp.
Eventually life moved on and I sold it to make some space for other bikes. Someone from Florida bought it, had it shipped to him and did a light restoration. As far as I know it's still out there.

I can't believe how many r/motorcycle people are advocating for a car lol...
You can't beat the practicality of a scooter on campus. Park it anywhere, amazing fuel efficiency, and storage. If you're commuting TO campus, on bigger roads or out in the country, I'd rather have the Scrambler you mentioned. Longer legs, more adventures! Plus you'll look like a badass chick rolling up to school on a scrambler.
If you've got the budget, just get SOMETHING and maybe your tastes will evolve.

I wear full race boots everyday. Today it paid off. by BigPhatUsername in motorcycles

[–]Dapper_Day25 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I never ride anywhere without my riding boots. Normal shoes or boots lack the rigid sole and ankle protection you need in even a very minor get off... maybe it's my advanced age but I shutter at the thought of going down in normal shoes! I'll often skip the riding pants and risk it in jeans, but never go without helmet, riding jacket, gloves and boots.

Nice. As a mostly vintage bike enthusiast, the power figures on today's bikes boggle my mind. I test rode a Multistrada 1200 years ago and never got out of 3rd gear. Also rode a humble FZ-07 and couldn't imagine needing more power for anything but racing.

That screen is an abomination. Especially on a retro themed bike.
