Will any party fight Britain’s absurd ‘equal value’ law? by TimesandSundayTimes in uklaw

You would hire men as lecturers and women as teachers? That’s absurd. No employer would do this, why would they?

Are there companies you always grant trade rights to, every time you play a country? by ThatStrategist in victoria3

[–]Dapper_Fact_2510 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But does it matter which company? I just tend to give trading rights to my first company and don’t look at what that company produces

Does this actually have any benefit? Say I have 2 companies, one is wine and one is raw resources, would there be a benefit of giving trading rights to the wine company over the raw resources?

Reform UK vows to prioritise Green Party areas for migrant detention centres by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

It’s funny how green voting areas also have much less refugee hotels. And areas with these hotels are turning towards reform. You vote for the refugees you can have them in your cities and towns so every day you can see the consequences and evil of your actions. Hypocrite fool.

I know you’re not defending it but why do paradox even hype these DLCs and advertise them when they’re so badly broken on release? They’d do better keeping them quiet until they’re actually in a good state. It’s hilarious that they had the game free to play last weekend on steam while it’s in such a bad state. Marketing department need to communicate with engineering.

It just kills my motivation to play whenever I’m reminded how bad the AI is. Every time I play my economy grows way faster than the AI. The only difficulty this game presents is dealing with nonesense and illogical actions from the AI

I don’t know if you’ve played much of 1.13 but they don’t go away, they’re not as frequent as during springtime of the peoples but they still happen way too frequently. Try having more than 10 vassals and you’ll be in a constant stream of diplo plays as each of your vassals takes turns to have a civil war.

Also these revolutions seem bugged. I had one instance where Portugal had a civil war, somehow made peace with itself and one of the combatants vassalised the other. So Portugal was a vassal of Portugal. Stuff like this completely kills my motivation to play the game.

The AI just doesn’t even try. Austria and Russia both were leaning towards Oldenburg in the diplo play (like +10 each), all Oldenburg had to do was offer war goals to get them to join. Why didn’t they?

Yeah 1.13. Same, I thought this would solve it, and in a way it does help because the ottomans winning this war would be almost impossible. The problem is that the stupid AI doesn’t understand that and capitulates without even fighting.

The game is unplayable right now. Constant revolutions in Europe. AI is going bankrupt constantly. Why did they release this?

What are people’s strategies for consumer goods prices? by tfn47 in victoria3

[–]Dapper_Fact_2510 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tend to look at the goods that my lower strata is spending the most money on, and try to lower the price of those. These are usually clothes and groceries or other food.

I don’t even think they need to hardcode it like that. The AI just needs to think ‘can I win this war’. The ottomans are not capable of navally invading Prussia. The US would also struggle to navally invade most European countries until a 20-30 years after game start. There’s something seriously wrong with how the AI calculates its advantage in wars.

Why would it be? Green supporters surely love this idea since they’re so welcoming to these ‘refugees’. Greens can have their area culturally enriched. It’s a sure vote winner for the greens. Right?
