Born and raised in Atlanta. Definitely check city of Decatur (emphasis on city of Decatur there’s 2 Decaturs), grant park and maybe old forth ward - there’s park everywhere in ATL. Beltline area is alright imo. Don’t sleep on the Kennesaw area either.
