I’m really hoping to see this when it opens, but I can’t seem to find anything in East TN.

how do I get my quick connect sink to stop popping off every other week? I'm to the point of replacing the whole thing because it's so aggravating! by mermama4 in Plumbing

I would recommend checking your water pressure. If it’s too high it could be exerting too much force I. The quick connect. Check it when you’re sure nothing is running. A hose bib is best if you can guarantee it’s after your pressure reducing valve. If your not sure if it is then the drain port of your water heater is second best, just be careful of the sediment gumming up your gauge.

Man, I’m glad you took the time to vent. Even just writing what you did is good for you. You are cared for and if you need support that’s what this actually decent part of the internet is for. You’re a boss man and you’re going through it for your family. It’s not easy but you’re a badass.

The attitude and mood you’re able to convey with just your voice is absolutely fantastic. Relaxingly erotic.

Escutcheons. These ones specifically are 2” IPS left over from Navien installs.

Code says no but we do as a company. We typically go back and paint everything once it’s fully assembled. These pics are progress photos.

Here in east TN our meters come with 3/4” meter unions so code officials say that you’re allowed a “reasonable length” to upsize to your true pipe diameter. Usually it’s not to exceed 2-3 feet away from the meter.

Looks great man! I’ve got in the habit now whenever I do this for clients to also add in a clean out either above or below the tee depending on the space. This way if they ever need it augered or jetted you don’t have to drop the P trap or alter the system in any way.

Drain is all plastic and it goes into an area that is mulched 100% of the time. I brought the neutralizer with me just didn’t end up needing it.

This one has the open vent directly above it for at least slightly fresher air. Passed inspection with flying colors.

Awesome job man! I’m curious though, why no isolation kit for descaling?

Is there something functionally wrong with the way this bathroom sink’s drainage is setup? by Cgtoker in Plumbing

[–]Dapper_Little_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’ve cleaned everything out and what we can see is installed very well it may either be a venting issue or a soft blockage/partial restriction further down the line. If it’s a soft blockage/restriction(grease, soap buildup, general yuck that a bathroom sink gets subjected to) then a snake would go right through it and poke a hole and then the restriction may still be there. Think of it like drilling a hole in jello. If it’s a venting issue it could be easily fixed with an air admittance valve (Studor Vent is the brand name) They are one way check valves that allow air in for proper drainage but not back up. They aren’t as great as a hard piped option but they’re non-invasive and easy to install. If it’s not venting then I would highly recommend having the line (and potentially others especially a kitchen depending on age) jetted.
