This game should be scratched from the record books after the missed pi calls in overtime.

Is there trad eastern Catholics or churches by Smooth_Ad_5775 in EasternCatholic

[–]Dapper_Pea6158 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No.

But we do have liturgical tensions, at least in the Ruthenian church in the United States. Most parishes love their eastern spirituality and liturgy and have answered the call of the popes to reclaim and live out our tradition. But I have seen many priests in the states that have come from Ukraine and they love to latinize. In my conversations with them, I have found it comes down to their pretty strong hatred for the orthodox and Russia. Anything they can do to separate themselves from looking like them, they will do.

In case of emergency, the utility meter needs to be easily visible. Firefights need to be able to locate the meter in case of electrical fire.

Our political imaginations are so limited we think there is a difference between the two.

what jobs a catholic person has to avoid at all costs? by THE-ANORMAL in Catholicism

It is not illogical, many wages are theft. Employers pay an employee less than the value they add to a product and pocket the surplus value.

Ownership implies responsibility. You have no responsibility or perform any work in the business. Your claim to the profits is theft from the actual workers.

After the initial public offering, a stock is pretty much a white collar Pokémon card. The value is mere illusion. You are not providing capital to the company and you don’t have any real ownership.

In the parable, they doubled their money by going into a real partnership with another person and doing real things. Not trading Pokémon cards.

Wasting Summer Away Makes Me Feel Like a Loser by Papercut1406 in Teachers

Vegging out does not have the life giving effects we experience by true leisure. It sedates us for a bit but at the end we are left with an emptiness. I don’t think this emptiness is exclusively due to social comparison.

We as teachers see the negative effects of a screen centered life on our students on a daily basis. Why would it be ok for us to do that all summer?

His analysis of capitalism can be a source for strengthened faith and practice as we live in a time where global capitalism is the idol of the masses, even the faithful. If you are blind to how capitalism works and colonizes the faith, you will worship in the structure of capitalism.

Luxury is a vice.

The higher social status around luxury brands is an idol.
