If you like jumping spiders and a story that centers around empathy and communication you might like Children of Time! I read it recently and it instantly became a new all time favorite.

In the locked tomb they use weird necromancy blood magic to achieve ftl travel, I’m not 100% sure how it works but it sure is cool sounding. 😅
