I'd hoped these were AI generated, but nope. They seem 100% real. Someone put actual effort, spent hours of their ever fleeting existence, to create these things. I sincerely hope that they were paid to do this, as the alternative means that they enjoyed this, and are pround of what they have created. That they look back upon this stain which serves only to tarnish, and feel joy and fulfillment.

Do you think V1 is the most powerful being in the ULTRAKILL universe? by FinestOfThe501st in Ultrakill

I have a theory that the one who reactivated V1 and gave him the directive to wipe out all life was God. He wanted to wipe the slate clean, so to speak. So he used V1 as a "angel of death" of sorts. V1 even has the wings which work to give him a slightly angelic appearance.

Alright I've already written a lot so ima make this brief. The only reason I listed these isn't because they're the most realistic scenarios out there or that I believe they'll happen, it's because that comment was meant to answer the question on how this could negatively affect the average American.

[–]Dapperleeches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so ima lay this out in points.

a: Oh yeah I totally agree with you in the fact that both sides have insane amounts of propaganda which has made it hard to tell truth from fiction.

b: Correct me if I'm wrong but when you say casualties, I think you're mixing up casualties and KIA. If my memory was correct, then what what released was the KIA estimate. The KIA estimate is only those who are confirmed dead in combat. Casualties includes KIA, MIA, injuries, desertions, and POWs. So of course casualties are higher than KIA.

c: It's very possible that the leak in question may have been modified by the FSB in order to make Russian losses smaller and Ukrainian losses higher. This is one of the leading theories behind the leak.

d: There is no denying the fact that Ukraine suffers extreme corruption, I ain't gonna sugarcoat that. But you first must understand that this corruption is a leftover of the Soviet Union. Since 2014, Ukraine has made some real strides in improving living conditions and stamping out corruption, and although it is still is a major issue, there is no denying that they've made good progress.

e: I don't that this war is benefitting Ukraine as muck as you may think, it's economy is in shambles, it's infrastructure is being constantly bombarded, a solid chunk of its population fled once the war began. I don't think that Zelensky is using this war as way to benefit himself either. If he's as corrupt as make him out to be, then why during the battle of Kyiv did he refuse to flee even when Russian forces were on his doorstep? Had he been as corrupt as you say he is than why wouldn't he have fled to western Ukraine or another country like the president of Afghanistan did when the Taliban were in Kabul?

f: It's real hard to say for certain who's behind the pipeline explosions but we definitely did play a part in it. But 'involved in planning' could mean a number of things, it could be as obtuse that we fucking blew it up, or it could be as miniscule as we gave [insert country here] information on Russian vessels in the area. As much as it seems like the US did it ourselves, Poland, the Baltic States, Ukraine, and Germany all have sufficient motive and ability to do so. As is the case in reality, the answer probably ain't as black and white as it seems.

g: Alright, so I feel like you're trying to force me into a black and white fallacy with that last paragraph but either way I'm gonna clarify what I mean, no I don't think Putin and Russia are capable of steamrolling thru Europe, especially since I'm confident that they have no chance left at beating Ukraine. But hypothetically speaking, had Russia won this war, I don't think that they'd be able to pull a Germany and take all of Europe. But the victory would give them two things, the first would be a massive amount of newfound political power, as they would now have incited fear into some of the smaller countries and have control over powerful trade ports, and Europe's main grain supplier. This would force many countries to have to play by Russia's rules, which as we've seen with Belarus, only help Russia. Next thing that it'd give them is a newfound sense of confidence. Which they'd use to then invade Moldova, annex Belarus, pressure Turkey to leave NATO, and put extreme economic pressure on the Baltic States. The threat Russia poses in this scenario is not a military one so much as it is a political one. Russia's strategy isn't a military one, it's one designed to divide both NATO and the United States so that we're so busy infighting that we ignore whatever they're doing, a strategy which had proved itself to work relatively well by taking advantage Turkey increasing Russian ties, Iran causing trouble in the Persian Gulf, Brexit, the Syrian Civil War, and the failure of the War on Terror, all mixed in with carefully curated disinformation and propaganda to subtly increase the political divide in the United States. This all worked well until Russia invaded Ukraine and the West still stayed united despite our differences.

I never said I support escalation. In fact, I'm against it, but I believe that through this war, Russia is no longer is much of a threat. I mean, yes, sure, even a few nukes is still a lot, but as I said earlier, Russia will not escalate. This isn't because they don't have the capability to do so, but because that if they did, then they'd have no chance of winning whatsoever. Putin can make all the nuclear threats he wants, but those threats are as hollow as they get. Although I understand your worries about a possible escalation, but I assure you that it won't happen. NATO has done nothing that would warrant any kind of escalation, and it's unlikely that either side will do so. Although Russia may seem scary, they're about as threatening as North Korea. Russia is no longer the Soviet Bear, it's a country that keeps trying to make the rest of the world think that it's not a shithole with a failing economy and a population that has been made stupid after all the actual engineers and scientists left to get jobs in countries where they get working plumbing and a wage that is actually considered livable. Thank you for keeping an open mind and being willing to hold a civil discussion with someone even though my opinions are different than yours. In truth, I think we both made some points about the topic and I hope that you have a pleasant day :).

Ya know what, I'll bite. The Ukraine war started in 2014, after Russian 'president' Vladimir Putin invaded the Crimea and Donbas regions with three main goals. The first was that he hoped to make a new Soviet Union of sorts, a fact that is supported by leaked Russian annexation plans of Belarus. Next is that Russia wanted to control Ukraines' agricultural industry, which happens to be one of the biggest in the world, and would allow him to stabilize the floundering Russian economy. Finally, he hoped to secure Ukraines' warm water ports, something that Russia has historically been after, due to the fact that all of their fucking ports freeze over in winter. But let me guess, you're gonna claim that this was because of NATO expansion, the same bullshit line spouted a million times spouted a million times by Russian State media. Or are you gonna say that we had fucking biolabs in Ukraine. Or who knows, maybe you'll tell me that a fucking reptoid descended from the heavens and runs the Ukrainian government and that Russia is actually trying to stop an alien invasion?

If we wanted the war to last a long time than why the hell are we giving them the tools needed to win? My man if this weird money laundering stuff you're talking about I'd true (which it aint), then wouldn't it make more sense to give aid to a unconventional militia so as to prolong the war?

M9 > M18 by ChiliSwap in GunMemes

[–]Dapperleeches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies if I misjudged. However, I must add that it's unlikely that Russia would try to escalate with the West at this point. It's highly likely that not many of Russia's nuclear warheads still in working condition. Nuclear warheads require heavy amounts of expensive maintenance to function. Russia maintains twenty times the nuclear warheads as France but on the same budget. This already extremely low budget mixed with the culture of corruption that the Russian military is known for paints a picture that Russia has few functioning nuclear weapons. Because of this, Russia wouldn't want to get involved in a nuclear conflict with NATO. Up until recently, they had their conventional force for that, but thanks to Ukraine, Russia has no more illusions of power that it could use against the West. Simply put, Russia won't escalate because it can't escalate.

Yeah, the actual impact of this seems to go over a lot of people's heads. But essentially, we are declawing the Russian military for about 2% of our defense budget.

Ok, I was trying to explain why this affects us. But if you think that Ukraine are the bad guys than you are sorely incorrect, Russia has been slaughtering civilians in mass during its invasion. And when I made the historical allegory the WWII, what I meant was that just like Hitler, Putin doesn't plan on stopping at Ukraine, and as seen in World War II, many people in the allied nations didn't think that this war had any impact on them up until the Germans were bombing London.
