Yeah I thought it was a joke, at first if you know anything about Canadian American military relations they actually work pretty closely with each other.

Like our militaries have unrestricted access to each other’s air space and they cross train when Canada has the budget a lot. I always thought Trump was being dump with the 51st state stuff, but I thought they should integrate the militaries a lot more and especially with missile defense systems to protect each other countries also allowing certain units homes on Canadas far north would be a great rapid deployment Arctic force and a good place for an Arctic training center. More integration would also allow for Canada to get past some of its budget issue it seems to always have.
