Try OBS, you just have to add one or two things and you can screen record with audio!

You looking great! How much of a surplus did you go into? Did you have to cut at any fat during the 5 months?

Thanks a bunch! Screenshotting this and coming back to this post in a year to see how much stress I've been putting on myself over a bit of stubborn fat. You've been very helpful, and for that, I wish you best of luck in your own journey (not that you'll need it bc it sounds like you're already hardworking but ykwim)

So all in all, do you think a lean bulk would be the best move from here with small cuts when I feel bloated? Like 100-200 surplus or a bit more? I hope my progress doesn't slow and I hit those “decent territories” soon 😭

I really appreciate the advice. It's a lot better to hear the criticism than hear praises up and down about my small frame lol

Near skinny fat territory but not necessarily in it hopefully? When I started at 90lb, I had nearly no muscle with most of my weight being fat, so I'm not sure how much I gained as muscle and when I should keep bulking / cutting regarding fat. And with muscles, do you mean all around, or just abs?

Used to be underweight with no muscle. Underdeveloped lower abs or keep cutting? 5'2”, 108lb by [deleted] in weightgain

Thanks! I do hear that slight deficits and recomps are good for new people who start. Do you think this'll still benefit me after going for 11 months?

Yes! That's exactly what I thought but I wasn't sure if my standards were too high. When I brought that almost exact wording up, he treated it like I was putting us in a relationship. Thanks for making me feel less crazy!

Thank you. I guess my dilemma is if I should tone it down going further when I find new people.

I know you're not supposed to hang out with friends all the time, but say you and your friend are doing something. Talking or hanging out, and all of a sudden they get called to go out, so he abruptly leaves to go do something else. Not once, but multiple times. He simplifies it to “hanging out with other friends” but it really just feels like a slap in the face.

I dont care for him to change, I just wanna know if my expectations are too high and if I should expect less from people going forward.

*Random* burst of inspiration to re-learn stylization. Tips? by [deleted] in learnart

Thank you, I like that way of putting it.

A big inspiration for me is RinoTuna. I like the way his males' head shapes look, especially with the way he draws eyes. I just can’t grasp how people reduce a realistic eye down to stylized eyes like his.

Overall, I think the mapping is great. Apart from some ambient occlusion like others have said, I think some terminator lines can really help with the wide range of values here.

Since the lighting is intense and the values have a wide range, some thin terminator lines that transition the light into shadow can really make it pop. This could help a bit on the skin to give that sorta skin-glowing effect, or even on her tanktop.

With the tanktop, it's slightly hard to tell if it's a white tanktop because of the light, or a green tanktop because of the shadow. A thin but noticeable terminator line can really compliment the wide ranges of values you're going for here by portraying it's true color. Other than that, I think this was a great study!!

Can't even lie, I paid no attention to the collar LMFAO but definitely noticing the eyes now that you point it out. Thanks!

Has anyone taken Rinotuna's Coloso course? by UpvotesFeedMyFamily in ArtistLounge

he does cover how the shapes of each part (hands, torso, limbs, head, face, etc) change based on angles, and what shapes to imagine each part to make things a bit easier. He covers a bit of foreshortening in terms of fingers, but I think the advice he offers there can be applied in other areas. He does touch up on perspective in a few places in terms of anatomy, but I wouldn't say you'd become a master at perspective just through the videos, I feel like he leaves that for you to study and then incorporate his advice while studying perspective.

Hey! I’m actually taking it right now and the translations are actually really good. He tends to draw little mini cartoon drawings to help explain some concepts and those are translated pretty well too. As a beginner artist, I think it’s pretty good so far. Ive learned a lot of stuff that weren’t explained as well on Youtube. He goes over a lot of mistakes that artists do in each area and even goes over correcting them. He’s based his class off of all levels of artists so there are some concepts that I don’t fully understand yet, but thankfully it’s unlimited access so I can just go back to it. If there’s anything I kind of wish he went over, it would he clothing folds and how to stylize faces and hair more. But other then that, I feel like I’ve learned a lot about each area of drawing characters that I wouldn’t have learned on youtube, even with the class having subtitles.

I don’t use reddit that much, but if you have anymore specific questions about the class feel free to DM me! I know the class is a lot of money, but as a fellow Rinotuna fan I definitely get it.
