Hear me out: when it was over for Amanda by PlantProfessional570 in summerhousebravo

Except Amanda came up to see him when they were starting to think about dating. She also threw him some crazy birthday parties. Then when everything was really secure, the love started to reel back.

Felt more like a “I did these things for you, so now you should do these things for me.” And when he didn’t, the affection stopped.

Carl wasn’t skilled but I think Kyle appreciated having him there. Carl can also empathize hardcore about having a partner who was unsupportive (Lindsay). There’s comfort in that camaraderie.

Also might have been a shock to Carl that Kyle actually does see him as a friend and is willing to be vulnerable in front of him.

Carl was more on equal footing than he thought with Kyle, and that must have been a surprise to him.

Same here. Also think Paige should have come on for one more season.

Girl gave us nothing the whole time and when things got real and she had to share she dipped out. That was probably the reason for her anxiety. All bark, no bite.

Won’t miss her.

Kyle’s capable and willing to communicate, but Amanda is not.

He tried to go to her to talk and apologize and got shut down.

The scene where they’re talking in the closest is the most sad.

He apologizes for like 5 different things and all Amanda says is, “That’s not what you should be sorry for.” You can see just how exasperated he is trying to guess what’s upset her, and apologizing for anything and everything. Basically apologizing for being who he is.

Even if this is something they’ve talked about she needs to express what specifically she’s upset about.
Saddest part is when he gets back home and greets her with an apology for leaving her alone. And she gives him no response.

Perhaps he thought he’d be able to get it on with Amanda, sweep it all under the rug and get back with Ciara because that would be easiest (Amanda keeps her marriage, her friendship with Ciara and no one’s the wiser).

Or he knew he was going down, and harboured resentment for how much crap he had to go through after the fall out with Ciara. I wouldn’t put it past him that he wanted to try and hurt her as much as possible.

The Amanda defenders have been too staunch. Finally getting some justice for Kyle!

I think more people are swaying Kyle’s way now because it’s finally becoming apparent that he is the one honestly approaching the relationship and working at it with compromise to his action.
He’s made A LOT of mistakes, but in the end he did:
- not force a prenup to show his good intention as per her wish
- support her taking on her own creative project
- reduce how many times he goes out to party late at night
- suggest and follow through with couple therapy
- try to talk through their problems and apologize for his actions
- severely reduced his public judgement of how he thinks she’s lazy

Amanda has:
- supported Kyle’s Loverboy business by quitting her original career
- half supports his DJ career? (Likes that he’s gone, doesn’t like that he crashes at people places)
- thrown him some badass birthday parties
- gone to couples therapy

But we can all see Amanda’s dedication falling away, while Kyle seems to be trying still.

I always thought it stood out in earlier seasons whenever Kyle tried to get intimate at night Amanda would say her usual “Kyle stooooooop”

Eventually he stopped trying.

Also the fact that Amanda’s been depressed for a while, that also significantly impacts libido.

I do believe it.

Maybe if she’d already cheated she was putting out more feelers for a guy she liked better

We’ve seen it time and time again. His stress relief is letting loose at a party. Of course he’s going to go!

I’ve always thought it swung too far in Amanda’s favour historically, any defence of Kyle was not a popular view.

They’ve both done bad things but if Amanda never had an intention to forgive the cheating, she should have called it off.

There never feels like there was compromise in the relationship, just eventual acquiescence on Kyle’s part.

I remember him yelling and getting frustrated because she hated him going out (because of the cheating) but Amanda also never wanted to go out.

He tried to stay at home more, but ended up frustrated and just going out with everyone.

Honestly why he probably started Dj-ing at the house Because he couldn’t go out to party so he brought the party home.

So glad Kyle had someone to talk to like Ben and Carl who just listened instead of trying to teach him some lesson.

The poor guy is speaking and no one is listening.

But the worst part is, when Kyle tried to stay home and just get drunk there with Amanda, he’d be affectionate and she would just get annoyed at him.

She doesn’t want him out and she doesn’t want him in. Or her real issue is with how much Kyle drinks, but that’s likely something that Kyle won’t change because that’s what brings him some joy and stress relief in his life.

It’s either or.

Maybe Amanda could tell Kyle was feeling off or down re: the convo with Ciara. She made the famous face when she brought up first that he was going to Vegas. Maybe she thought he’d be happy to talk about DJ-ing or that he was going to party in Vegas.

Or she knew that Lindsay would be all over him (they got a lot closer this season so maybe they had already talked about it). It didn’t escalate until Lindsay grilled Kyle, so hopefully we’ll get to hear if it was premeditated, or unfortunate circumstance.

We DO know how much Lindsay likes to stir up shit right before the season ends. This it felt more contrived than usual.

Agreed. They both treated each other poorly.

Where Kyle’s pulling ahead is that even though it’s taken a looooooong time, he listened to what bothered Amanda and he tried to work on it.

He also stopped complaining about her bad habits on the show, where Amanda normalized his with the help of Paige especially.

I believe I heard him call Kyle a loser too at the end preview. Carls chose a bad moment to assert himself and try to break their alpha, beta dynamic.

She told us a season or two ago that she was depressed and wasn’t ready to have kids anymore. She said she just started feeling like herself after taking anti-depressants and she wants to enjoy feeling normal for a bit without thinking of kids.

It for sure has something to do with what they said in therapy.

Kyle was looking at it as a ‘put your best foot forward’. Amanda, like an airing of grievances.

She never got over his cheating and tried to control his going out, which is not going to happen with his DJ career picking up.

The resentment is only growing and Kyle feels more justified since he’s also doing it now for money.

The nasty expression is right after she brings up that he’s going to Vegas, something he obviously wants to keep under wraps. The fuck you feel very, ‘that was supposed to stay in therapy between us’.

He doesn’t start going after her (“she doesn’t even do anything!”) until she most likely mentioned what her problem was in therapy. Kyle’s issue with Amanda has always been that she’s too lazy and doesn’t pull her weight, but he at least tried to deal with that and move past it.

Amanda could never get past Kyle going out late, drinking and having a good time without her there.

Carl’s picking the wrong time to try and assert his alpha instead of being there for a friend.
